Latin Class Course Update!

Dear Parents and Students,

Hello! Salvete (as we say in Latin)!

Here we are! Late October already! I wanted to take a moment to send out some info for you.

So many of the students in Latin this semester are doing such a fantastic job, and I can't repeat enough how constantly impressed I am with the work produced by GAVS students. Thank you for supporting them!

I only have a few items for this update, but please scroll through the rest of this flyer. If you do have questions, please contact me: michael.farmer@gavirtualschool.org or call me at 229-232-8113 (9-5 M-F).

Thanks,

Michael Farmer

Late Work Policy

I wanted to remind students and parents about the late penalty process.

Work is bi-weekly on Thursdays (they are marked in orange on the course schedules). After the due date, I will still accept late work, with the following penalties:

One day late (Fri-Sun) -10% penalty

Two days late (Mon) -20% penalty

Three days late (Tues) -30% penalty

If an assignment is submitted more than three days late, it cannot receive credit.

I have included a handy graphic which nicely displays the policy.

Upcoming Important Dates

* The Current Grading Period concludes on Thursday, Oct 27. Any work listed on your course schedule between Friday, Oct 14 and Thursday, Oct 27 is due by midnight on the 27th!

*Nov 17 - World Language Speaking Contest - sign up by Oct 31.

*GAVS does not have a Fall Break. If your school does, you will need to either work ahead or plan to work at home during your school's scheduled break. Being on Fall Break at your face-to-face school will not excuse any late work you submit!
