PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents,
NWEA student progress reports will be sent home Friday,
February 1st. These tests determine your child's instructional level and measure academic growth throughout the school year in the areas of reading and math.
For more information on resources for parents, download the Parent Toolkit at www.nwea.org.
Respectfully,
Mrs. April Price, Principal
DEAN'S CORNER
BUS STOP & BUS SAFETY
As we enter the winter months, the bus stop can be an area of concern for safety. Please review these and help set up your child for success. Thank you!
BUS STOP
Parents: Help clear bus stop area of snow and ice. This will allow students to be on the sidewalks and not in the streets waiting for the bus!
Students:
Civility- Use kind words
Order - Wait for the bus on the sidewalk to stay safe
Respect - Leave all snow and ice on the ground. (This is not the time to play in the snow.)
Excellence- Be on time for your bus- If you can’t be on time, be early.
Thank you,
Mr. Radcliffe, Dean of Students

LOST AND FOUND
We currently have many personal items in the Lost and Found bins located in the school cafeteria. Please check with your child and if they are missing any clothing, jackets, lunchboxes, or other personal items, please have them check our bins.
Outside Recess
As the weather is turning colder, please keep in mind that your child is still expected to go outside for recess. Students have a 30 minute recess each day. Every student will go outside unless there are unforeseen circumstances. Our district temperature threshold is 20 degrees for going outside with the wind chill also being taken into consideration. In other words, if the temperature is 25 but the wind chill falls below 20 degrees, students would remain indoors for recess. Recess is good for students socially and physically, however there may be times where students are not feeling well. If a parent requests that their child remain indoors, they can write a letter with that request for up to 2 days. If it is longer than 2 days, a note from a doctor will be required to keep the student in from recess. Please ensure that your child is prepared to enjoy their recess by dressing them appropriately for the colder temperatures.
HEALTHY CELEBRATIONS
While we love to celebrate, please remember that there is a
“No birthday treats" district policy. To access fun and helpful resources for healthy celebration ideas please visit the district wellness policy by clicking on this link.
