Mission: The mission of the Rio Hondo Independent School District is to educate every student by creating an environment of high expectations, innovation, and strong partnerships.
From Mr. R's Desk
Bobcat Nation,
Here are ten questions to ask yourself, answer, and consider as part of a self-reflection about your teaching. (Source: https://inservice.ascd.org/ten-teacher-questions-for-self-reflection/)
- What am I trying to accomplish with my students? What’s the core?
- What are my beliefs about how students learn?
- How do I create a positive climate for learning?
- What “essential” questions do I want my students to explore?
- What are the primary, core types of instructional strategies that I use regularly?
- How do I know when my students have accomplished my goals?
- How do I get feedback from my students on how well they are doing? How do I use feedback to improve student learning?
- How do I customize and individualize learning for my students?
- What’s special and unique about my teaching?
- How will I work on my teaching in order to improve what I do?
Benjamin Franklin once wrote, “Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.”
Are you on the right path to achieving success and mastery? Are you willing to sacrifice yourself for the greater good? Regardless of your current status/position, please make a commitment to the profession and to the future success of our children. Again, we are here to support you in all your endeavors. We want the very best for you and for students alike. That being said, trust that we will push you, question you, and challenge you. Bottom-line, if you are not being challenged, you are not growing. Let's MODEL, INSPIRE, CONNECT, and ACHIEVE. #WeAreRioHondo
