Welcome to Semester 2 Blues Families!


We are thrilled to begin our first full semester in the new building on Wednesday, February 1. For those of you who are new to Paul Kane for semester 2, please pop into the Front Office to receive a school map and locker assignment. We are happy to answer your questions and help you navigate your way through your first week.


We are still awaiting some final installations in our cafeteria, so we are not ready to open for food service at this time. Please continue to pack your lunch until we can provide an update on the cafeteria opening.


If you would like to discuss your timetable, please make an appointment with your grade level counsellor in Student Services.


Come out and cheer on your senior basketball teams play a double header vs. O’Leary Spartans on Wednesday, Feb 1st at 5:00 in the gym. Go Blues!

SEMESTER 2 SCHEDULES

Semester 2 starts on Tuesday, February 1, 2023 in our new school!!!


Timetables can be accessed on PowerSchool. For quick reference, it is a great idea for students to take a screenshot of their timetable with their phone.

TEXTBOOKS / LIBRARY BOOKS

Outstanding textbook/library book notices are emailed separately. All books from Semester 1 are now overdue. Payment for lost textbooks must be made at the office.

MARKS

Your account in the PowerSchool Parent Portal allows you to view grades. If you don’t have a Parent Login, please contact shirley.bowles@spschools.org or 780-459-4405. As soon as you have set up your account, you will be able to view Grades, Attendance, School Fees, Bulletins and communicate with teachers.

DIPLOMA MARKS


Diploma marks will be available on myPass on Feb 10. If a student does not have a myPass account, they are to see Ms. Solomon in the front office. If a student is not happy with their score they are able to have their diploma rescored. Please see Ms. Solomon regarding this procedure. The deadline for rescore requests is Feb 21.

GRAD 2023

We will be planning a student grad meeting in early February. ICON Experience Photography will take graduation photos at Paul Kane between February 21-March 7, 2023. Please ensure all Grade 12 students have a grad picture taken as it is required for the class composite and yearbook. Also, at the photo sitting, sizing for grad gowns will take place. Information to book a sitting is on our school website.

Can be viewed on PowerSchool. We encourage parents to use our online reporting system when students will be absent. Go to our website at pkhs.spschools.org and click on “REPORT ABSENCE”

To check credits, diploma marks and to order transcripts your child needs to register on myPass. You can find your child’s Alberta Student Numbers (ASN) on PowerSchool.
