All voting is scheduled to take place in-person, 6:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Ruben A. Cirillo High School, 3195 Wiedrick Road, Walworth, NY 14568. Notice is given that applications for absentee ballots may be obtained from the office of the Clerk of the District in person until the day before the vote or by mail received at least seven days prior to the day of the vote at 1500 Dayspring Ridge, Walworth, NY 14568. A list of all persons to whom absentee ballots have been issued will be available for inspection during regular business hours in the office of the Clerk during the five days prior to the day of the vote and available for inspection the day of the vote. Please visit the Gananda website for more information. | Reopening at the Secondary Level Information and Forum As you probably already know, on Friday, April 9, 2021 we received updated guidance from NYS Department Of Health that follows the newly updated CDC guidance for schools. This guidance allows us to move students to 3 feet of spacing for instruction but keeps us at 6 feet of spacing for lunch, PE, and Music. It also maintains masking requirements at all times, except for lunch. As we evaluate plans for a “reopening” for our secondary students, we would like to gain feedback from you. Please complete a survey to share your thoughts about the remainder of the school year should we go to a 4-day a week in person schedule. Additionally, you can review a Q&A document to help answer the most common questions. We also invite you to join us for a Virtual Parent Forum on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 7:30pm to discuss our reopening plans at the secondary level. Registration is required to participate. |

NYS Assessments
● Only Part I is required, this is the multiple choice section and should be 60 minutes
● Gananda will not be administering Part II, the written portion
● Testing Schedule:
○ 3-5 Math: May 5
○ 6-8 Math May 4 (A-K) & May 5 (L-Z)
○ 4th & 8th grade Science: June 7, written portion only
● Due to 6 feet distancing and spacing requirements, if a student refuses to take the 3-8 tests, we can not take them to another room. We can, however, allow them to read quietly at their desk.
● There will not be make-up days if a student is absent and misses the test.
● Parents of 100% Remote students may request to participate in the testing by reaching out to their building principal.
What does this mean? If your child is absent or refuses the test, we will mark them as such and move on. We will not be making follow up phone calls to discuss your/or your student’s decision. Please have your student bring a book to read if they will not be participating in the test.

#Respect Our Varsity Volleyball Team honored the seniors on the team last week during the East Rochester game. Congratulations to Tori Shirtz, Megan Schultz, and Teghan Shirtz. We are #Ganandaproud of you! | #Unity Last Friday all district staff participated in professional training focused on implicit bias by the National Training Institute on Race and Equity. We were fortunate to have Dr. Bryant T. Marks, Sr. as our presenter. Dr. Marks is a minister, researcher, trainer, and award-winning educator who has provided diversity, equity, and inclusion training for eighteen years. Thank you Dr. Marks for your insights and education! | #Outstanding Gananda Cheerleaders weren’t able to keep their normal tradition of making a meal at the Ronald McDonald House due to Covid-19. That didn't stop them from helping though! Being flexible, the seniors joined together to make a donation instead. Way to go ladies! |

3 Types of ADHD
Inattentive type ADHD - without the hyperactivity: People with ADHD of the inattentive type have trouble paying attention to details, are easily distracted, often have trouble organizing or finishing tasks and often forget routine chores.
ADHD with hyperactivity: A neuropsychiatric disorder that makes it difficult to pay attention, control impulsivity (taking action before fully thinking things through) or manage excitable behavior (the person is squirming/fidgeting or “hyperactive”).
Combined: Inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive symptoms are present.
A diagnosis of ADHD can still apply even if a child doesn’t have hyperactive or impulsive behaviors. If you feel your child has ADHD they should be evaluated by a trained clinician.

Now Open: Enrollment for RMES's YMCA Before and After School Program (BASP)
Some info about BASP:
- AM care begins at 7am (we dismiss the kids when it's time to go to school)
- PM care runs until 6pm
- Preferential pricing is given to YMCA members (it is recommended to open a youth membership, as you will actually save money in the long run) but the program is open to all
- We focus on our 9 core components: academic enrichment, college and career exploration, 21st century skills, service learning, arts education, leadership development, health and wellness, global learning, and parent and family engagement.
- Within that framework, families can expect their child(ren) to receive help on homework, complete fun art projects, science experiences, play active games and sports, and make lasting and impactful relationships with their peers and counselors
