Dorr Elementary Welcomes New Assistant Principal
Dorr, MI – Dorr Elementary School will soon have a new Assistant Principal, Rachel Cimek, who will start on Monday, March 2.
She comes to Wayland Union Schools from Hopkins Public where she taught for seven years. During her tenure, she taught 3rd - 5th grades and had the opportunity to serve as reserve principal when needed. Her and her husband Kelly are proud foster parents and adore their dog Otis.
Cimek is a graduate of Grand Valley State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 2013 and her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership in 2019.
“I’m thrilled to be a Wildcat and support Dorr Elementary students, staff, and families,” said Cimek. “I believe all students are capable of learning at high levels and it is my honor to support all stakeholders in this growth process.”
Cimek replaces Robin Seniura who is now the Principal of Dorr Elementary.

Music Notes
Our 3rd grade music performance is less than a month a way. The performance will be at the Wayland Fine Arts Center (FAC) on March 12 at 7pm (Please bring your child at 6:45 pm.)
The students will attend a rehearsal in the morning during the school day. For the concert, I request that your student wears something nice, but not too “dressy” as we will be moving about during the performance. I am very excited to show you the traditional songs and dances that we have been practicing this year! If you have any questions, please email me.
Sincerely,
Mr. Truswell
