Coach Renfro Inducted into Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame
Congratulations, Coach!
Among his many athletic accomplishments as a student-athlete, Renfro was named an AP high honorable mention all-state, Indianapolis News 3rd team all-state, Bloomington H-T 1st team small school all-state, IBCA honorable mention all-state, Indianapolis 1st team all-city, two time all-metro, three time all-Marion County and four year all-Mid-State Conference after averaging 28.7 points (second in state), 7.6 rebounds and 8.7 assists as a senior for the Hornets' 18-5 team...set school scoring record of 1,855 points and set gym single-game record of 50 points his senior year. He was named "Most Complete Player" in 1995 by the Indiana High School Record Book, set records in two years at Allegany Junior College, was second team JUCO All-American and NJCAA all-tournament team. He played two seasons at Hofstra University, two seasons in USBL and coached two seasons at NCAA D2 Adelphi University. Mike now serves as the Head Coach of our BGHS Boys Varsity Basketball Team, leading them to 18-8 regional finalist last year.

The Beech Grove Lions Club is selling Discover Books this year as a fundraiser. The Lions Club supports the school system through school supplies, scholarships and additional assistance when called upon.
If you would like to purchase a 2021-2022 Discover Book you will get a mobile coupon free for your iPhone. The cost for both is the same as last year at $ 25.00 each.

Virtual Storytime - Tuesday Tales!
Tuesday’s at 10:30AM
Children ages 0-6 and their families are invited for an online storytime with Ms. Jess from the Wayne Branch. Register online at www.indypl.org/events or call your local branch to register.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Register at any IndyPL location or on the Beanstack app. You can record your reading on a paper tracking sheet you get from the library or online by logging you’re your account on Beanstack or by using the Beanstack app. Books can be from your home or the Public Library and can be read repeatedly. If you read The Very Hungry Caterpillar five times, that counts for 5 books! After completing the first 100 books, return to the Library to receive a progress sticker and a prize.
Prizes will be awarded for levels of 100, 500 and 1,000 books read.

On your next visit, check out our table at the desk for different children’s kits (crafts and other activities) to take home! Limited supply available, no registration required. Ask about our kits if you would like to know what they are to pick up through our curbside service as well.
Online Book Discussion – Tween Book Club
Join us monthly for IndyPL's Online Tween Book Club for 11-13 year olds! This event is being held as an online meeting/webinar. You will be emailed login instructions approximately 24 hours before the event. Register at www.indypl.org/events or call your branch to register.
Teens: 100 Books before Graduation
100 Books before Graduation Reading Challenge is for students in grades 7-12. Students can register at indypl.beanstack.org or you can call the library or stop and visit and we can get you registered. There are prizes at 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 books and we can do prize pick up through curbside. We do have bookmark if you do not wish to utilize the Beanstack website or app.

Adults: Lineage Research Workshop
Monday, October 18: 3:00pm - 8:00pm
Adults are invited for a free in-person session with representatives from the Samuel Bryan Chapter of the D.A.R. who will provide assistance with genealogy research using Ancestry.com and other online sources. Registration required. Stop in at the branch or call 317-275-4560 to register.
