1929-1939
Brianna Wood
I am going to give you information about the Economic, Social, and Political reasons for the Soviet Union during the decade 1929-1939.
Economic
During this decade, Stalin's movement to collectivize farms created much turmoil. The government forced peasants to give up their land and forbade them from leaving their farms. Stalin also made the decision to join the Allies and commit his troops against a common enemy, Nazi Germany. The Soviet economy struggled to regain social stability after the war.
Social
Artist, musicians, writers and others were under strict government control. The work the did had to reflect a love for their country.
Political
Government restrictions increased. Those that did not abide the restrictions were killed or sent to prison.
