Glows and Grows

Glows: Thank you to the staff members who covered for classes without subs this week. It is noticed and appreciated. Shout out to Mr. Dravland and Mrs. Byland for researching robotics and coding club possibilities and for collaborating on getting a club off the ground. Thank you to Mrs. Chun-Remick for sticking it out at a long and difficult IEP meeting this past week.

Grows: Two questions/thoughts:

1. How is formative data driving your instruction? Your grade level collaboration? How often do you collect formative data?

2. Do you use genre charts to guide your work with reading and writing?

Upcoming Dates/Events

1/14: Trotter, Admin Council after school

1/16: PBIS Tier 2 meeting at 3:00

1/17: Trotter visit to Patterson Elementary (writing focus), MTSS meeting at DO at 2:00

1/18: Student of Month names due

1/21: No school, MLK Jr. Day

1/22: Great Kindness Challenge Week

1/24: Spelling Bee @ 8:30 a.m.

2/1: Progress Reports due to admin (we are working on an updated parent communication related to this)


Mr. Matthew starts tomorrow, Tuesday. Reminder that he will be here Tuesday-Thursday each week. I know he has reached out to some of you about switching a few times. I appreciate your flexibility. I know the schedules can BE VERY tight. Schedule Link

Brick Space will be returning this spring. We are scheduled for the first week in April. More information on a schedule will come later.


I mentioned this another message but I wanted to make sure you took the time to peek at our dashboard. The CDE dashboard outlines major success metrics and looks at our current status and whether we are making growth over previous years. Take the time to look at the great success we've had and what areas of growth we continue to need to tackle.
