THE FIRST 9 WEEKS OF SCHOOL IS IN THE BOOKS!!
Our Freshmen were able to have a fun Advisory today with their Mentors. The Mentors planned games and had fun prizes in Advisory to celebrate the end of the first nine weeks. Our Sophomores were using Naviance to help them explore different career paths from prominent leaders in various industries. While Juniors were using Naviance to uncover their different intelligences and how to best leverage them as they build a plan for their future. Our Seniors were able to focus on the three E’s (Enrollment, Enlistment or Employment) with time to work on their college essays, resumes, college applications, ASVAB, job search or prep for their last ACT or SAT.

OHIO IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL INCOMING 12th GRADE STUDENTS FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR
VETERAN'S DAY CELEBRATION IS IN THE WORKS FOR THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 11!
The ceremony will take place in the Jackson High School Commons, starting at 7:45am. At this ceremony we will be honoring Veterans and their families.
During the ceremony we will be recognizing the sacrifices made by our students with parents in the Armed Forces. We refer to these students, with respect, as our “Purple Star Kids”. Dr. Monica Myers, Director of Curriculum at Jackson Local Schools will be our guest speaker for this portion of the ceremony. She herself is a “Purple Star Kid” as her Father proudly served in the 101st Airborne, United States Army. Her son, who is in the Ohio National Guard, just recently returned from deployment in Kuwait. She is a person who understands the sacrifices made by the family of those who serve our great country. Following the ceremony, our Purple Star Students and their families are invited to the Bears Den Cafe for fellowship and nourishment. This will take place during our 2nd period which is from 8:36-9:23am.
We also invite any current or former members of the Armed Forces or their family members to join us in the Jackson Center for Performing Arts to be a part of or witness the Veterans Panel. The Veterans Panel will consist of Veterans having open dialogue with Social Studies students on what it means to serve and/or support a family member that serves. See the backside of this letter for the complete Veterans Day agenda. We very much hope you can join us for all or part of this special day!
If you and/or your family would like to participate please reach out to Mr. Knopick at email@example.com or at 330-837-3501 ext. 1424.

JACKSON LOCAL SCHOOLS BACKPACK FOOD PROGRAM
We are pleased to be able to offer The Backpack Food Program, in partnership with River Tree Jackson. This is a service for families in the Jackson Local School district with students in K-12. The goal of this program is to send home a variety of easy, ready-to-eat meals and snacks for your child to have over the weekend. There is absolutely no cost to our families to join this program. The bags will be delivered to your child’s school weekly, and sent home with students on the last day of the week that students are in school, usually Fridays.
This program is intended for families whose children are eligible for free/reduced meals. However, we understand some families may not be eligible for the free/reduced meal program, but are still in need of food. If you would like to opt in, please fill out the google form linked below (one for each student). Please know, all information you share with us is kept in the strictest confidence.
