Fiat Festival 2015
Diocese of St. Augustine
For any of you who may not be entirely clear on what the FIAT FEST is... There is so much beauty in the Church that many of us have grown ignorant of due to the constant distractions of this world and the continuous persecutions from the devil. This beauty can only be revealed through a turning of the heart to Christ. The FIAT FEST is Most Reverend Bishop Felipe Estévez' response to Pope Francis call to Wake Up the World, and is being organized by the diocese of St. Augustine. During this one day event the beauty of Our Lady's Fiat - "may it be done unto me" - and the fiat of every person who has turned their heart to Christ will be celebrated. The FIAT FEST is a big party for Our Lady! The diocese has invited many orders to come together to celebrate with the Youth and witness to the Joy that only comes with allowing God to lead. All youth in high school, college or university, and up to the age of 25 are invited. During this time in our world and especially in our culture it is more important that ever to celebrate the Beauty of allowing Christ to move our hearts to a deeper love and devotion to Him through Our Lady, His Holy Mother. As I said above, this is a celebration - a big party! There will be Mass, adoration, confession, breakout sessions, basketball between the young men and the religious brothers and priests, a Frisbee game between the young women and the religious sisters, as well as an Ignite the Fire Festival led by the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal from the Bronx! Lunch is included in the $12 registration fee, and dinner will be supplied by the food trucks that will be present during the Ignite the Fire Fest! This is a day to celebrate the Consecrated Life before the year of the Consecrated Life comes to a close! All families are encouraged to attend for dinner and the Ignite the Fire Fest.
