Bess was very affectionate towards the Highwayman, she killed herself to warn him about the redcoats. She is also a very determined person, she was determined when she was tied up. She didn't just give up and cry she tried to untie the knots and reach the trigger of the gun.Bess is the landlord's red-lipped daughter, she would also plait a dark red love-knot into her long black hair. The story of Bess's death was tragic. The redcoats tied her up and placed a gun facing upwards on her body. She tried twisting her hands behind her to untie the knots but they all held good, all she could feel was sweet or blood....Finally a tip of one of her fingers touched the trigger of the gun. Her finger moved in the moonlight. Her breast shattered , she warned the highwayman..with her death.

The Highwayman was very affectionate because he wanted revenge on the redcoats for killing Bess, his love. The Highwayman was also sneaky because he is a theif and he still hasn't gotten caught yet for what he has been doing. The Highwayman had a French coacked-hat on his forehead, a bunch of lace at his chin, a coat of the claret velvey, and breeched of brown doe-skin. The Highwaysman's death was unexpected. The redcoats shot him down on the highway, he went down like a dog. There he layed in his blood on the highway, with a bunch of lace at his throat.
