Governor’s Order Changes Quarantine Protocols
Late Wednesday afternoon, Governor Holcomb issued an executive order changing the quarantine rules for schools that require masks. Students who have had close contact to a positive case when they are unmasked (i.e., during lunch) will still have to quarantine and families are contacted separately about the next steps. When a student is a close contact to a positive case when both parties are wearing masks (i.e., on the bus or in class), the student will not have to quarantine. The family will still be contacted and will be asked to monitor the student for symptoms while they continue to attend school. Please contact the school nurse Ryan Elam or Melanie Carrel if you have further questions.
Character Education
Mr. Patterson and Miss Griffin will have the privilege of visiting several classrooms to facilitate September’s and October’s character trait of RESPECT. During these lessons, students will have a chance to reflect on the various ways they show respect to themselves, others, and the world. The lesson will conclude by learning healthy and safe ways to respond when they believe they have been disrespected.
DAILY NORMS AND EXPECTATIONS
Operational Reminders
Dress Code Expectations
Clothing should be so constructed and worn in a manner that is not unduly revealing. Tops that may NOT be worn include tank tops, muscle shirts, tube tops, halter tops, backless shirts, tops with spaghetti straps, sheer or fishnet shirts, and cut-offs or other tops which show midriff. Plunging neck lines and excessive exposure is not acceptable. Our gauge for necklines will be 4"; the length of four fingers. All shorts, skirts, and pants should not be unduly revealing, using the fingertip rule as a guide.
Students who are in violation of our BHS dress code will be sent to the team office to put on school assigned attire or call a parent/guardian to bring them a change of clothes.

Naviance Test Prep
We have SAT Test Prep available in Naviance. The Naviance SAT Test Prep can be found on the home page of Naviance under “Resources to Get Ready.” We highly encourage students to take advantage of the SAT prep tool to prepare themselves for the SAT. A prep guide is available in Naviance in the section labeled “From My School.” Also visit the SAT and ACT websites at www.collegeboard.org and www.act.org for additional test prep resources available.
ACT/SAT
This is a reminder to get your student signed up for the ACT and/or the SAT this school year. Students can sign up for the ACT at act.org and the SAT at collegeboard.org. Due to some colleges requiring a writing score, we encourage students to take the writing portion of the ACT/SAT the first time they take the test. Please reach out to the counselors if you have any questions.
