Is your classroom equipped with the necessary visual resources?
The Benefits of Visual Facilitation in the Classroom:
- Visuals help learners really grasp a concept by incorporating drawings which visually represent the different theories, topics and areas of learning that are taught.
- Using visual facilitation and pre-drawn flip charts not only helps draw in learners (so to speak), but makes it easier for them to remember the concepts they've just learned. The simple pictures and the words about the topic offer an easy way for people to link the concept to the picture.
- Visuals offer another way for people to learn. If people do the drawings themselves, it is a kinesthetic way of learning because learners are putting pen to paper.

Here are some great examples of visual resources in the classroom.
Thank you Mrs. Matthews for coordinating another amazing Veterans Day Program!
Reminders:
- Teams that are sharing the load with planning must remember that each team member is still responsible to take those plans and tailor them to the needs of your students. In addition, all teachers should become familiar in depth with the TEK driving their instruction and should ensure the TEK verb is being addressed accordingly.
- Lesson objectives posted should match the lesson objectives in your lesson plans. Framed lesson objectives should be posted and utilized by students. All students should know the "what and why" for their learning.
- Suggested teacher behaviors in the Linguistic Instructional Alignment Guide should be evident at all times.
- All students should be reading daily at home. Primary grades should send home leveled readers daily for students to practice reading.
