Tomorrow's Schedule
A Word from Mr. Long
April 15th on our school calendar reflects a half-day for students. Our district is providing the option to high schools to have an electronic day or “e-day” for students instead of physically attending school on the half-day. This is an exciting opportunity for our students and reflects the school's use of Canvas. Canvas is our learning management system that all students now have access to.
All teachers in all classes will have an assignment in Canvas for your student to work on at home for that day. Your student will be counted present if he or she completes the online assignment. If you would prefer that your child comes to school as normal on April 15th, you are welcome to choose that option. The bus will run as normal. Breakfast and lunch will be served as normal. We will be fully prepared for any students who choose to come to school on that half day.
We have been preparing the students for this day for several weeks in an effort to anticipate and resolve any confusion that may arise. We have worked very hard to launch this learning opportunity for the students. We are available to answer any questions you or they may have. Most of our students are already using Canvas in some form or fashion in current classes so this program is familiar to them already.
Please contact the school or teacher if you have any questions about this “e-day” option on April 15th. We are excited to give the students this relevant learning opportunity as they move forward in their education experience.
Upcoming E-Learning Days
We have E-Learning Days coming soon! On April 15th, there will be school-wide E-Learning periods during 1st and 2nd. Also, on April 19th, 9th and 12th graders will have E-learning periods during 3rd and 5th period. Grades 10th and 11th will be testing and not required to do E-learning assignment on this day.
