Principal's Update

Dear JMI Families,

As the 2020-2021school year draws to a close, I cannot help but feel grateful, proud and blessed to be a part of the James Madison School community. I am grateful that we were able to welcome our students back in person for at least some of the school year. I am proud of how our students persevered through so many challenges and how our staff went above and beyond to help our students grow regardless of how the day was structure. I am blessed to have such incredible JMI families who have been remarkably supportive throughout this pandemic. We all know that the past 15 months have not been easy, but brighter days are ahead in Edison!

I hope that you all have a restful, enjoyable and healthy summer!

Best,

Mrs. Abatemarco

JMI's Successful Green Team Event!

On Tuesday, May 18, JMI's Green Team hosted our first Earth Day event! This was our first in-person family event since February 2020 and it was an overwhelming success! Students and families rotated to nine different activities ranging from recycling hopscotch, decorating a reusable tote, sorting recyclables to planting herbs and vegetables! A huge thank you to Ms. Misko and Ms. Petry for organizing the entire event including working with securing funding for the event through the Edison Township Educators Association, collaborating with different vendors to order the materials, preparing the materials, and creating the different stations. Of course, this event would not have been possible without the support of our staff volunteers: Ms. DiVila, Ms. Ericksen, Mrs. Law, Mrs. Duranni, Ms. Hollis, Mrs. Kantar, Mrs. Coyle, Mrs. Mateicka, Ms. Cafro, Ms. Byington, Ms. Purnell, Mrs. Coscarelli, Ms. Tarby, Ms. Geletei, Ms. Hollis, Mrs. Barilka, Ms. Einhorn, and Ms. Rutzler.
