Spooner High School Update
January 21, 2016
Second Semester Begins Monday!
Students and staff are gearing up for the beginning of the second half of the year, which will begin Monday, January 25th! New classes will bring fresh opportunities for more learning growth.
At the bottom of this newsletter, I have identified important dates in the upcoming month. You can always check out our website for activities and events as well under the high school tab.
Parking Vehicles for Pick Up and Drop Off of Students
Please note that the space in front of the main entrance of our building is not meant for parking vehicles. If you are simply dropping off or there will be a swift pick up, you may utilize that space for picking up and dropping off students. However, please do not leave your vehicle parked there and unattended at any time of the day. During winter months, we have had problems keeping the space open for our plows to clear off snow. Every day, we have a bus that picks up and drops off students and has run into several days where cars are parked there illegally and obstructing their path. The parking lot is the appropriate place for vehicles that need to remain parked. Thank you for your assistance with this.
A Capella Comes to Spooner
Mr. Conner brought his former A Capella group from UW-Eau Claire, "Innocent Men" to Spooner students on Wednesday, July 13th. Students in choir classes in middle and high school received clinics from the group during the school day, and they performed a concert at the high school in the evening. The crowd was treated to a few surprises when Mr. Conner performed with the group and when the all female vocal group from UW-Eau Claire, "Audacious" performed two songs.
Innocent Men Perform
Mr. Conner brought his former A Capella group to our school for clinics with the students during the day and the group provided stellar vocal entertainment for an impressive crowd on January 13th.
