PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Good evening Titans,
Today we traveled downtown to celebrate Mr. Adam Hardigree and Mrs. Isabel Lopez for being our Teacher of the Year and Professional of the Year. Next week, we will have a short week ending with a Full Release Day/Teacher Work Day.
We were simply delighted to be able to celebrate Mr. Hardigree and Mrs. Lopez at the Legacy of Excellence banquet. Mr. Hardigree is our ELA Chair and TAG Coordinator. Mr. Hardigree is known for his bold leadership, authentic teaching practices, and his effective Socratic Seminars! Mrs. Lopez was widely known for her tremendous support of not only our ELL students but for all of the students at Elkins Pointe. Ms. Lopez formed deep bonds and relationships with the teachers, students, and parents by building trust between our school and our community. Mrs. Lopez who was our Bilingual Parent Liaison for many years took a promotion to be the Registrar at Centennial High School. Please take a moment and help me congratulate these fine individuals on their special day!
Next week on Friday, November 17th, students will be off from school. As our families start the Thanksgiving Break, Elkins Pointe teachers will be using the Full Release Day for a day of Professional Development. Ms. Ansley and the Professional Development Team have a day planned with Break Out Sessions in Personalized Learning Tactics, TAG training, Mathematics, Reading Workshops, and AVID Strategies. Our teachers will be "loading their toolboxes" with ways to empower students through the use of Flipgrids, Playgrids, and other innovative means for students to use their "choice and voice."
Have a great Friday Titans, and "Good Luck" to the Roswell Hornets and Milton Eagles in their State Playoff games tonight!

SMART-HAPPY-CONNECTED!
We Raised Over $300 for Zumba for a Cause
Way to care, Titans! We raised $319.00 for the U.S. Virgin Islands Hurricane Relief & Recovery Fund during the Zumba for a Cause event last week at our school! We couldn't have done it without our Zumba Instructors from the community (Patrece Donadelle and Sharon Simmonds-Mitchell), our Zumba Kids Club Students, and our Zumba Crew Staff who joined me to provide an experience that you would never forget! Thank you to all those who helped with the setup, motivation, treats, and donations. Special thanks to all who came out and partied for a cause, especially our administrators. You've got some moves! We appreciate all of you who have already donated at usvirecovery.org, redcross.org, and/or 21usvihurricanehelp.com and continue to do so. ~Ms. Lindesay #usvi #zumbalove
