Warren Weekly Update

April 6-10

Remote Learning @ Warren- What to expect

Warren Families,

I hope you all are doing well. I’ve thought a lot about you all this past week, as the last few weeks have been a major adjustment. I have been so proud of our community and how we have navigated such a major shift in learning and connecting. Thank you for reaching out to your child’s/ children’s teacher and keeping us informed on how we can best support you child/children.

As we continue remote learning, we ask that you stay in touch. We miss our student’s and want to ensure they know we are here for them and their learning. Parents, we want you to know that we recognize that remote learning can be stressful. What we don’t want is for you and your family to look back on this experience, and to have felt overwhelmed and not supported. Keep in touch.

Starting tomorrow, April 6th, our lessons for students will look a little different than the previous two weeks (prior to spring break). We are no longer reviewing previously taught content. Our district has created a K-5 framework for remote learning. The framework was designed to be accessible and manageable for families. Each week your child’s/children’s teacher(s) will send you the weekly work by 8:30 on Monday morning. Your child/children will be assigned two English arts assignments, two math assignments, specialist assignments (music, PE, library, counseling), and supplementary science/social studies assignments. Weekly assignments will be due to your child’s/children’s teachers by noon on Friday. Therefore, students can work on the weekly assignments whenever it fits into your family’s schedule. Teachers will be reaching out, if they have not heard from a student in a couple of days. We want to stay connected.

Weekly assignments will be graded, and student proficiency will be recorded on the 4th quarter report card. I will be reaching out to families on Monday’s if students work from the prior week has not been submitted. The goal of the phone call will not be a “gotchya”; the phone call will be an inquiry on how I can help support your child’s/children’s education. We may no longer be in our building, but we have already shown that our community is strong and will work hard to best support the needs of all our students. Do not hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Wilkins
