STEM MAKER SPACE HELP NEEDED

Harvest Families,

Please consider helping us out with Maker Space Fridays! Here is our upcoming scheduled classes below. The students LOVE working with robots and our UAH marble roller coaster! Parents enjoy it, too! Parents help out with monitoring the stations as the students rotate around all 7 stations. Each parent chooses a station to monitor.

If you could help with BOTH classes, that'd be Awesome! It's only 2 1/2 hours with a 30 minute break between the 2 classes. If you can only dedicate 1 Friday, that's perfectly fine! We understand and are thankful for the help we get with this special time of learning.

We will NOT be meeting this week (Dec. 1) due to an MCLA (Madison County Librarians Association) Meeting; however, we will pick back up with our schedule on Dec. 8.

If you can help out, please email Mrs. Owen: cowen@mcssk12.org

Friday, Dec. 8 = 3rd Grade Classes (Campbell & Johnson)

8:30 - 9:30 a.m.

10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Friday, Dec. 15 = 3rd Grade Classes (Wells & Knight)

8:30 - 9:30 a.m.

10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

2nd UAH STEM PROJECT STARTING UP!

Harvest Families,

As many of you already know, UAH Engineering Dept. joined up with a Grant from Women of Defense to build and give Harvest a marble roller coaster in April, 2017. The kids are LOVING it during Maker Space Friday!

Mrs. Fraley, from Women of Defense, has contacted us to begin our 2nd STEM Grant with them and UAH!

They plan to start up with the planning process in January, 2018! This means, our project will be ready by Summer, 2018!

Our Project is a Jungle Cat Lift Mechanism which is a project idea from PLTW.

Mrs. Bodine, Mrs. Owen, & Mrs. Vandiver are the School Contacts who are spearheading this project!

Box Top Info

Box Tops Collection - Please continue to clip Box Tops and return them to our school. PTO provides a Box Top Celebration for the class who collects the most each month.
