Track Team News from Coach J. - We have been competing in the Sparkman High Track Meet the past 5 years and have always earned 2nd place behind Madison Crossroads.

This year, our kids did amazing and won first place!!! Please congratulate our team when you see them!

Yearbooks - We have 30 extra yearbooks available for $40.00 each. You can send a check made payable to Harvest Elementary or cash. Please include your child's name and homeroom teacher's name. Yearbooks will be delivered in May.

Running Club & Cookie Dash 5K - From Mrs. Keeton:

Congrats to the HES Running Club for their Cookie Dash 5k finish times! All the kiddos finished between 20-40 minutes, and for many of them it was their first 5k. Congrats to Cooper Durkovich for placing 1st in his male age group. Esther Hoggard placed 1st in her female age group, and Makayla Richardson placed third in her age group.

I am so proud of these kids; so much encouragement, teamwork, and good sportsmanship was shown today!

Wish Week Winners - Congrats Harvest Elementary! It's TRUE what they say! "We're a Small School With a BIG Heart!" We collected the most money out of all the Sparkman Family Feeder Schools. We raised $577.03 for Make a Wish Foundation. Ms. Hall's first grade collected the most in the school, so her class is going to have an ice cream party sponsored by SHS.

Dancers should be at school at 5:45 pm.

Dancers will wear, black leggings, tennis shoes, & t-shirt (we will send information home next dance practice for size and order information.

ACT Aspire - Special Thanks to Mrs. Butler, our guidance counselor for organizing the tests for each student! Thanks to our 3rd - 5th Grade teachers for getting our students ready for the tests!

STAR Testing & Dibel Testing - Our students will be STAR testing and Dibel Testing. Encourage your child to do his/her best on these tests.

Outrun Hunger - The House of Harvest (HOH) asked us to pass along this information attached below about the Out Run Hunger 5K/Fun Run event at SMS on May 6, 2017.

PTO School Supply Store - It is located in the old office area. It is open from 7:15 - 7:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.

Lost & Found - Our Lost & Found is located in TWO Locations. There is one in the gym hallway and there is another one at the entrance of the lunchroom. Please ask your child to look for lost coats or lunch boxes in these areas.

Box Tops Collection - Please clip Box Tops and return them to our school. The top class has a celebration at the end of each month throughout this school year.

**MORE Exciting Happenings at Harvest...

Project Lead the Way - A hands on approach to teaching science. This is a grant that we are involved with which will help our students get involved with learning and creating. We received 50 New iPad Air 2's through the PLTW grant. These have been given to 3rd - 5th grade classrooms participating in PLTW.

UAH STEM Grant - Our school has partnering with UAH engineering students to participate in a STEM grant.

The UAH students have completed the marble roller coaster and delivered it Friday, April 7 for our ACE students to utilize first, but all students will get to experience it as well before the end of the school year.

Title I - Our school has officially been labeled as Title I which will benefit our students. The government will give Harvest Title I funds this fall which will be used for Professional Development, Technology, and other resources. We recently received 24 New iPads from Title 1 funding. The Library Media Center received a Promethean Board and Projector. Our students and teachers participated in a Writing Lesson provided by Title 1 funds, also.
