Library Maker Space Friday Schedule

Harvest Families,

If you can help out with Maker Space Friday, please email me:

Here is the schedule for the next few weeks below.

What do we need help with?

1 Parent to Monitor Each Station

There are 7 stations (Chip the Robot Dog, Bee Bot Robots, UAH Wild Animal Rescue Unit, UAH Marble Roller Coaster, Osmo Hot Wheels, Merge Cubes, & SHS Moon Bag Toss).

Each station needs someone there to monitor and show the students how to manipulate correctly to be able to learn from the station.

The first group comes from 8-9am. We typically have SHS Engineering Students helping out with the stations for the first group.

The 2nd group comes from 9:30 - 10:30am. We need the most help with the 2nd group.

Lots of parents enjoy coming to help out with their own child's class, and that is GREAT! We welcome y'all to help out anyway that you can!

Thanks! Mrs. Owen

Harvest Families,

As many of you already know, UAH Engineering Dept. joined up with a Grant from Women of Defense to build and give Harvest a marble roller coaster in April, 2017. The kids are LOVING it during Maker Space STEM Friday!

We received our 2nd STEM tool from UAH on Thursday, Nov. 15. Mrs. Bodine's 5th Grade ACE Kiddos were able to participate in the introduction of this STEM tool. Videos are on our Harvest Elementary Library Facebook page. ALL 2nd - 5th Grade kiddos will get to utilize this awesome STEM tool when they come to the Library Maker Space Friday!

Our Project is a Wild Animal Lift Mechanism which is a project idea from PLTW.

Mrs. Bodine, Mrs. Owen, & Mrs. Vandiver are the School Contacts who have spearheaded this project!
