What was the change?
The government gained power and the economy boomed during the renaissance. Artist like Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo revolutionized art. During the renaissance there was a revival of learning. They began using the scientific method. The scientific method helped the development of medicine.

Who were the people assocaited with the change?
Leonardo Da Vinci was a famous painter, during he heled revolutionize art during the renaissance. Baldassare Castiglione was given the ncikname of "The Renaissance Man". Because of his book he wrote during the renaissance. Issabella D'ESTE was given the nickname of "The Renaissance Woman". Issabell was one of the leading women of the Italian Renaissance as a major cultural and political figure.

How did that change impact society at the time?
Cities grew and prospered during the Renaissance and rulers learned to tax the people. Trade grew between cities/states and other countries. As trade in goods increased, trade in ideas grew also. The contact between cultures was in some part due to the Crusades during the 11th century. The people of the middle class had more money to spend on art.

How is that change envinced in today's modern society?
The Renaissance had a large influence on the course of the development of modern American society, culture, and, since it is a natural extension of both, artistic expression. The Renaissance influence in America brought about a new focus on humanism and as a result, a subsequent turning away from the dominant ideals put forth by the church.
