COMPASS SCHOOL NEWS
ACTIVITY LOGS ~ Activity Logs are used to take attendance at CCS and this year we will be completing Activity Logs for attendance in ParentSquare. Similar to last Friday, every Friday morning you will receive an email from ParentSquare inviting you to complete that week’s Activity Log. Click on the link in the email, then choose your scholar’s name from a drop-down box (if you have more than one scholar you will need to complete a separate form for each scholar). Next, check off the educational activity boxes for each day to identify what your scholar completed that week. Learning coaches will need to sign and date the bottom of the form before submitting. The Activity Log for each week will be due the following Tuesday. If you have any questions on the Activity Log process, please contact your homeroom teacher.
ATTENDANCE AWARENESS MONTH ~ This month we are supporting Attendance Awareness Month by raising awareness about chronic absence. We are inviting all of our learning coaches to join us by helping their scholars attend each of their classes, and on time. We want all of our scholars to be successful and we ask that you join us as we raise awareness for this important cause.
ASSESSMENTS ~ It’s not too late to take your diagnostic assessments. We would like to stress that these diagnostic assessments are a crucial component in our mission of helping every scholar become self-directed learners. We highly encourage all scholars to take these assessments, as the results will directly impact his/her learning, and allow teachers to support scholars in reaching their goals.
K-5: Istation is a computer-adaptive diagnostic for reading and mathematics that pinpoints scholar needs, and contains ongoing progress monitoring showing whether scholars are on track to achieve end-of-year targets. Istation is taken as a diagnostic assessment the first week of each semester. Supporting instruction is available to scholars throughout the month, as assigned by your homeroom teacher. These assessments and instruction activities will help our teachers and staff support academic growth. Use our Getting Started Guide to help you get started.
Grades 6-12: Edgenuity is a computer-based diagnostic for reading and mathematics with supporting instruction assigned to support scholars’ needs and close learning gaps. Use our Scholar Guide to assist with logging into Edgenuity for your assessments.
Please contact your homeroom teacher with any questions.
