A Message from the Principal
As the school year draws to a close, Cerdon College has much to give thanks for. The College began using its new STEM classrooms and Science labs, the new playground areas, outdoor kitchen facility and undercover Hospitality cafe space. Glass doors now replace the wire cage on the Art Room area. All these new facilities have assisted the College in moving forward the curriculum to integrate technology in differing ways.
Cerdon College too, celebrates the successes of our 2018 HSC class who achieved 84 Band 6 results, a result down on previous years, but Band 5 and 6 results combined account for 49.5% of all results, while Band 4, 5 and 6 results represent 81% of all results. This represents a very solid result for a comprehensive high school.
Annemarie Subramaniam achieved First Place in the State in VET Hospitality - Food and Beverage course.
All students in Years 7 to 9 received their reports on Friday 14th December, while Year 10 received their reports on Thursday 13th December.
I take this opportunity to thank all students and parents for their support over the 2018 school year.
As a school community we farewell the following members of staff - Mr Nathan Mulheron (Religious Education Co-ordinator), Mrs Kerry Odonga (Visual Arts Co-ordinator) who are taking up promotional positions in other schools, Ms Marie de Jesus who is awaiting the birth of her first child, Mrs Amale Frangi and Miss Katrina Sylaprany who are finishing temporary appointments at the school.
For 2019 school resumes on -
Wednesday 30th January for Year 7
Thursday 31st January for Years 8-12 (College Swimming Carnival)
On Friday 1st February, Year 7, Year 11 and new students to the College will have their school ID photos taken in Period 1 and 2 in the hall.
I sincerely hope all our families have a relaxing, safe and renewing Christmas holiday break.
As a Catholic community we pray -
God our Father,
may the simplicity of the birth
of Jesus, your Son,
remind us
that we can readily discover him
in the ordinariness of our daily lives.
Amen
God Bless
