Dear Franklin Families,

April was such a busy and fun month. Our PTO has been working overtime! Field Day was so much fun for our students and staff. It was so great to see our students having fun and playing outside. Our Athletic committee, PTO, and DSO put a lot of time and effort in creating such a wonderful experience and a lot of fun. Our students were so wonderful and this was a great way for our students in 3rd through 8th to have fun as we head into FSA testing season. Thank you as well to all of our parent volunteers, we couldn't have done this safely without all of your support.

Ms. Rena Roseff-Tornopsky

Ecollect forms and surveys

Franklin Academy is moving to creating our surveys through our PowerSchool Portal, utilizing our Ecollect forms. It is vitally important for parents to all have a PowerSchool account as that is where you complete your registration, ITR, parent surveys and more. At this time if you go to PS, go down the left side and it will say "forms". Click on that and it will open a list of available forms to you.

Right now, we are asking you to fill out the Parent Satisfaction survey and also there is a short 2 question technology survey as well. You are able to access it via the web-based parent portal and the mobile application. The surveys will remain open until May 15th.We want to make sure we reach all of our families and that they are able to answer in their home language. Home Language Link.

Course Selection Time

All students in 5th through 7th grade, please review the Curriculum Guide and elective choices for next year. We will be meeting with 5th graders and discussing 6th grade electives and meeting some of the teachers who will be teaching them. Here is the link to the curriculum guide, which can also be found on our website:

Student COVID Policy

Please read the updated COVID student policy on our website, which was updated 2/14/2022:

In addition, when a student is quarantining or home with COVID all classwork should be posted to the teachers Google Classroom. This work can be accessed by all students. As long as a student is able to, health wise, they should be completing their work and submitting it to the teacher. While we are not permitted to do virtual teaching at this time, a student can request the teacher have a Google Meet, when the teacher is available, to help the student with any questions they may have.

Please contact the teacher with any questions regarding the posting of work, or available times. All students should have already joined the Google Classrooms for their teachers, if not, again please speak with the teacher.

If your student tests positive for COVID-19 or was exposed to someone who tested positive, please fill out this form as soon as possible:

Masks are optional at this time and we no longer supply them if a student forgets.

Every MIDDLE SCHOOL student was given a school ID and lanyard. Your student is required as part of the dress code to wear a student ID at all times. Failure to wear the school ID will result in an infraction. Three (3) infractions = an afterschool detention. If your child has lost their ID and would like to purchase a new one. Please send a check or money order for $8.00 for ID ONLY or $10.00 for ID/Lanyard payable to Franklin Academy and dropped off in the upstairs office to Ms. Lauren. Our office staff will call your student in once payment is received for their new ID. Your child will not receive an infraction if payment is submitted while waiting for ID. If payment is not submitted and they have reached 3 infractions, they will be given a new ID and we will charge the PowerSchool account for the cost.

Service Hours

As agree to by all Parents/Guardians and defined in the Parent School Contract, Franklin Academy families must complete service hours each academic year. Each family is required to complete 8 hours of service each academic year. If a family does not complete their hours, it may affect activities for your student for the next school year.
