From the Garden Gals~Garden Update

We’ve got five out of the seven large redwood beds built and added a trellis. We are going to have so much space to grow and are trying take care of little things that won’t become issues down the road. We have been able to reuse the soil from the old beds and supplemented with soil from my home garden. When it’s time to plant we will add additional topsoil and a ton of compost to make sure it’s full of nutrition for the plants.

The plan is to keep plugging away and be cognizant of both time and budget. Our goal is to make the garden strong to last for many years and a space that is incredibly warm and inviting.

Thank you all for helping us keep this project moving forward.

Warmest regards,

Kaitlin Mitchell

January 14th-Material Distribution

I know, I know... here we are in January still doing drive thru distribution! I have to admit, it is one of my favorite days of the month. I love getting to see families and connect names with faces. I love the energy you all bring to the event. I love seeing the teachers faces light up when they see their students and they get to say a quick hello in real-time. I love to see the children faces when they see their teachers. So, wear your Super Hero outfit and encourage and bring your student, and let's have some fun as we ring in the New Year Covid style with our January distribution.

Don't forget to have your student wear their favorite hero attire on zoom.

I'M Glad You're Here!

I always kick off the year by showing this video to the students to let them know I'm Glad they are at Silver Gate. At the end of every Monday Morning Assembly, I ask everyone to turn to their neighbor and say " I 'm Glad You're Here!
