Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
And just like that, our summer vacation is coming to an end. With this end, starts the beginning of a new school year filled with excitement and endless possibilities. I encourage every student to take full advantage of the amazing opportunities our District provides on a daily basis!
In this week's newsletter, I would like to introduce Christian Storm, our District's new Administrator of COVID Response. Mr. Storm joins the District Office leadership team after serving as vice principal of Jefferson High School. Along with welcoming Mr. Storm, a few COVID-related updates will be shared in this feature.
Students, please remember to test negative with your at-home COVID test on 8/8 (prior to the first day), and again on 8/11.
Enjoy your last weekend of the summer vacation and I hope you return to school this coming Tuesday, August 9, 8:30 am, raring and ready to go!
I look forward to seeing you on campus!
Warmly,
Toni Presta
Superintendent

COVID Response Update
As we return to school, the District would like to inform you of updated guidance in regards to our COVID-19 Safe Schools Framework:
In accordance with the latest CDPH guidance, weekly PCR testing will no longer be offered. Sites will provide take-home self rapid tests upon student request.
If you test positive, you are required to fill out this form and follow the current guidance found here.
The wearing of masks indoors is highly recommended and masks be provided for students upon request.
Water fountains will be in use again this year.
HVAC systems, along with CO2 sensors, have been installed by LifeWings in all schools to monitor air quality.
We thank you for your support in helping keep our schools safe and sound. For COVID-related questions, please contact Christian Storm, (650) 550-7914.
