Home Stretch!
I am so enjoying the weather right now. The sunshine and warmth are very welcome in my book. It does make it a bit difficult to focus and attend to the necessary responsibilities, oh well. Enjoy the sun and deal with it anyway, I say. We are heading into the home stretch. Please make sure you are taking care of your self and keep up the good work of staying focused on the learning directly in front of us. This is a critical time for intervening with the last few students that need additional time and support. Keep those grade-books updated, especially as we near the end of the term. Accurate information helps us intervene and communicate with parents. We have the ability to to turn students experiences around by the end of the term.
Take care of each other!

Kudos
"I love how sweet Jenne Bender is to me. She will cover my classes for a quick minute during her prep; if I need to run to the restroom or make a quick copy or just step outside for a moment. It makes me feel great to know I have such a loving teacher across the hall. Bender is the sweetest!!" - Erin Crews
"Katy McAuliffe knew I was having a particularly hard time one day, so she left me a picture of a cute kitty picture and a purple pen on my desk with the message: Even on your "tough" days, you still make a difference. *A kitty and a purple pen to cheer you. I can't even put into words how badly I needed to receive that message on that day. Katy has given me countless sweet notes and texts. Early on in the school year, she gave me a drawing of me with glasses and rosy cheeks that says, "It's Friday; you can do this." (Yeah, like a true English teacher, she uses semi-colons correctly in her little handwritten notes.) Another of my favorites just says, "GOOD MORNING!" with the most awesome sun drawing. She slipped it under my door and a student got to appreciate it, too. I see it first thing each day. :-D Seriously, she is literally the encouragement master." - Nita Halstead
Renee Neill - I am so thankful for the hard work and commitment to excellence that Renee Neill brings to the table each day. Renee poured herself into her leadership this roll this year. In addition guiding a group of students through the year, she has also committed numerous hours making sure that Churchill's students needs were met. I am proud to be your co-worker. Your attitude is contagious and worth catching.
"Debbie Levy bought me my own copy of a book called "Shout" that has touched my heart very deeply and has become a perfect resource to share with some parents. Debbie stops by at least weekly to tell me good things, leaves me kind notes (and my favorite kind of chocolate!!!), and leaves books from the library that she knows will inspire and enliven me. A single hug from her can literally turn a gray day around to sunny!" - Nita Halstead
Katy McAuliffe. Every March she brings Rosalba and myself some sort of sweet and a card for our birthdays and uses it as a great excuse to include Miiko and Maria as well -- a general Happy Birthday to you all gesture. So kind and thoughtful is our Katy! - Alicia Newton-Hamill
"Robin's smiles and Jill's after-work gab sessions, Gene's visits, Kevin's humor and hugs, Sheree's emails whenever I am out sick...It truly is an honor to be here." - Nita Halstead
Many Thanks to our parent volunteer support group for recognizing and honoring our staff last week with your many gracious contributions. Specific thanks goes out to Lisa Christon for her coordination and consistent support.
Thank you to Katie Aley and her vision for planning prom with Renee Neill. Her vision and coordination made it possible for our students to have a most memorable experience.
