Legacy Parent Academy
The Legacy Parent Academy is a new initiative designed to support Strategic Plan Goal 8, which focuses on supporting the emotional well-being of all learners. The Academy is intended to provide parents with information on current topics that impact students and schools district-wide. Academy sessions are supplemental to campus-based programs and initiatives, selected based on expressed need, in response to concerns that we see on our campuses and in our community.
The first session, “Emotional Well-being and Referral Processes,” is scheduled for Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Legacy Stadium from 6:00PM-8:00PM, with capacity for 325 attendees. This is the first of eleven Legacy Parent Academy sessions planned for the 2018-2019 school year. Five of the academy sessions focus on social-emotional learning topics and six focus on academic topics. The schedule for the year is attached.
The Legacy Parent Academy webpage, which includes session descriptions and a link to register for the first session is accessible at: http://www.katyisd.org/parents/Pages/Legacy-Parent-Academy.aspx
