Davenport's Weekly Update
Week of February 13th, 2022
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
“You can’t let your failures define you. You have to let your failures teach you.” – Barack Obama
We are nearing the end of this eventful month! KINDNESS is the word we focused on this week. It is important to be kind to ourselves and others. Reflect on the positive interactions with others, pay it forward, do a random act of kindness, and show others that you care without being prompted. Kindness is contagious, continuing Spreading it to make the world a better place!
We are looking forward to what the end of February has to bring. Thank you for being YOU! Davenport Family you ROCK!
Have a great weekend!

"Random Acts of Kindness" Week
Our Elementary Art Teacher, Mrs. Pfaeffli, placed a large heart outside of her classroom and invited everyone to fill it with post-its scribed with a quote about KINDNESS. She even placed post-its and markers outside of her room for anyone to grab and add their sentiments.
To help celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day on February, 17th, 2022, students in Davenport Elementary heard the story "Be Kind " by Pat Miller read aloud by school librarian, Mrs. Goodman. Students held meaningful discussions on what it means to be kind as well as how they can be kind to others! To culminate the lesson, students created a Kindness Flower “craftivity” where they wrote different random acts of kindness. Mrs. Goodman displayed their completed flowers outside of the media center!
Mrs. Miles was surprised by Mrs. Tuthill's class with a Random Act of Kindness on Thursday. They wished her congratulations on being named Teacher of the Year, and presented her with a homemade card and a lovely song. It certainly made Mrs. Miles' day!
Celebrating National School Counselor's Week
