Library Thoughts for the Week
Each week, during our physical time away from school, I will be sharing some information that might be helpful for parents at home to do with their children or for students to do on their own. I will include the information for the Live Stream book that I will read every Friday as well as a link to an online book they can listen to. I will also include an activity that can be done at home and links to resources that I find interesting. This is meant to be a resource NOT homework!
Library Book Return
Thank you to all of you have reached out regarding returning library books! Each grade will be sent instructions regarding book return as we set schedules. Please put library books in a safe place for now. If you need a reminder on which books your students have out you have two options:
1) Find details on how to download and use the app below; scroll down to "Using the LVJUSD Mobile App". LVJUSD App.
If you have not already, you will need to link each student to your account. Login using their student id with a letter before it. You only have to do this for one of your students and the rest will populate. Choose the "Student Info" icon.
For Parents:
Login: Example: M20101234 (M for mother and F for father)
If you do not remember your password, you can do a password reset.
For Students:
Choose Google Login
Use Student Email and Student ID for login
Once logged in, you can choose each student's photo, then choose Library and you will be able to see all of the books checked out to your student including textbooks.

Scholastic Online Book Fair- Summer 2020
We have the opportunity to offer an online book fair through September 4, 2020. All books ordered will ship directly to your home. With the closure of libraries, this is a perfect way to provide books for your students.
5th Grade Digital Citizenship Lesson
This week I had a webex with all of 5th grade regarding digital citizenship. It covered being responsible for being safe with passwords as well as a general lesson about being kind online and the permanent status of what is posted and "said" online. This applies to all of our students. Please take a moment to speak with your students about this very important information.

Join Outdoor Adventures for a 30 minute virtual guided tour of some of the most incredible National Parks in the US all from the comfort of your own couch. Your live virtual tour guide will lead you through 10 of the most scenic spots in each park. At each virtual stop you can explore on your own with 360 degree viewing, while your guide shares some fun facts about the natural history, human history, plants, animals, geography, geology, with some cheesy jokes thrown in. Drop in to join the tour whenever you want, and stay for as long as you'd like. No hiking shoes required. Interpretive services may be available upon request. Audible is offering a free selection of children’s titles in multiple languages including English, Spanish, French, and Japanese. Hundreds of titles are available such as the Stephen Fry audiobook for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
