Hilbun's Highlights
May 20, 2016
Thank you! Thank you!
A shout out to Wendy Gonzaba, Ruth-Ann Johnson & Stacy Schroeder for taking on the huge task of collecting and counting textbooks. If you have received an email for missing items, please look for it even if you don't think it was given to you. Bagdad will have to pay to replace any lost items and it would be great to spend the money on something besides lost text books. Tuesday morning, please bring your DRA/EDL kits to your book location for the count. Put your name on your kit and we will get it back to you. Let's pull together to find those books!
Another example is when Lisa sent out an email needing help for coverage and before the day was over, she had more than enough help. Thank you Stacy Schroeder, Roxanna Sota, Sara Chatfield, Stephanie Solis, Heather Bennett, Teresa Duran, Joan White, Calissa Worthy, Yisbeth Puckett, Elizabeth Sanchez, Anna Locher, Mariah Hernandez and Sheila Sanchez for responding so quickly and thank you for your help!
Also, there was a wonderful group of staff members that took time on a Friday after school to help with packing up the book fair. With all that help, we were done before 4! Thank you so much to Bea Capuzano, Katherin Adams, Calissa Worthy, Joan White, Yisbeth Puckett, Christi Morrow, Yvette Romero, Domenica Vela, Cynthia Kincaid and Suzette Davison. I know Sandy is very appreciative. Great team work, ladies!
I am so excited to be a part of such an amazing faculty. Continue to stick together and the rest of the year will be great!
5th Grade Show:" Wizard of Oz" is a Hit!
What a wonderful way to celebrate the 5th graders! Thank you Carlos for your hard work and dedication to our students! They did a fabulous job and it takes long hours and patience to put on a big show. Thank you, Mrs. Tovar, PTA pres., for designing and sewing several fantastic costumes for the actors and Natasha Finneran for spending countless hours after school decorating the stage and working the show backstage. Shout out also goes to Kindergarten classes for making the colorful tissue flowers for OZ. Another example how Bagdad pulls together to make things happen!

Moves/Construction
On a good note, construction has been moved to start on Tuesday, June 7th so we will not have to be out on Saturday. You will still be able to check out on Monday, June 6th. Due to construction, we are asking that you do not come to school in June or July for your safety. Make sure you take home any personal items. Construction is slated to be finished by August 12th. The office staff will be housed in the teacher work room and Cindy and I will be in room 101. Remember, spotters ready! We can all help each other during this transition.
