Krotz Springs Elementary - Puttin on the Hits
Krotz Springs Elementary will be celebrating Puttin on the Hits!! The program will be held Thursday, February 8, 2018, and will begin at 6:00 PM. The public is invited to attend. Admission: $5 Adults/$3 Children and Concessions will be sold.

EUNICE ELEMENTARY
Ms. Kim Gaspard's math students at Eunice Elementary were measuring and graphing with a valentine theme. They used the conversation hearts candy to figure out their graphs and charts. pictured l-r is Zoe LaRue, Gabe Collins, Yasmine Lemelle and Alex Crader.
Eunice had the pleasure of having Colonel Dr. Gwendolyn Thompson as a motivational speaker at our flag pole ceremony. Dr. Thompson was the parade marshal and keynote speaker for "The Exhibit, Black Women Achievement Against the Odds". She is a native daughter of Eunice and has served 37 years in the military. She encourages our students to read and learn so that they can become outstanding citizens.
Congratulations to Eunice Elementary teacher of the year, Ms. Katie Fontenot. Ms. Katie has a bachelor in education from the University of Lafayette. She is in her 9th year of teaching, 8 of which has been at Eunice Elementary. She has been teaching English Language Arts for 6 years. Ms. Katie has been married for 13 years to Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot. Together they have 2 children, Anzley, who is 14, and Wesley, who is 12. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and shopping.
Eunice Elementary recognized its "Math Cats" at Friday flagpole ceremony. These students excelled in their math skills for the week. pictured l-r are Rachelle Rung, MS. Students in Ms. Rebecca Miller's 2nd-grade class at Eunice Elementary were studying about recycling in science. Students had to complete a project using an item that they were going to throw away and turn in to something else. Students got really creative.

Kindergarten students at Eunice Elementary celebrated their 100 days of being in school Students in Ms. Lindsey Benoit's class are Natalie Richard, Mason Thibodeaux, Lillie Franzman, Lsyria Young and Kamryn Cormier.

Glendale Pre-K students recently celebrated the 100th day of school. Students dressed as old men and old women. Pictures are students from Mrs. Katie Richard’s class and Mrs. Natisha Gil’s class.

Students in Mrs. Marks 2nd grade class are studying the layers of the Earth. The students created an edible Earth out of Oreos, Chocolate Syrup, and M&Ms to identify the layers.
HIGHLAND ELEMENTARY
Highland's Second Leader in Me Synergy Assembly was Friday, January 26th.
Highland Elementary students upheld their end of the bargain with Ms. LeDoux that they would do well on their state testing last school year. So, Ms. Ledoux had to complete her end of the bargain and that was to KISS a PIG with her brightest red lipstick on Friday, January 26th. So, here she is KISSING the PIG.
KROTZ SPRINGS ELEMENTARY
KSE celebrated the 100th Day of school on 1/26/18. One student from each grade (K – 8th) was randomly selected to win a $10 Dollar General gift card. Congratulations to all the winners!!
A Pep Rally was held on 1/25 to help support our boys/girls basketball team as they prepared to play their last home game of the season. Some of the activities included: Half-Court Shot (8th-grade girls vs. boys), Free Throw Challenge, Guess how M&M’s, Candy Throw, etc. At the end of the Pep Rally, 8th-grade cheerleaders and basketball players where recognized and presented with a special KSE T-shirt. GO MUSTANGS!!

Mrs. Chambers’ 6th-grade science class participated in a game of tug of war to demonstrate balanced and unbalanced forces. Students were given different scenarios to demonstrate how mass can affect forces.

SUNSET ELEMENTARY
A Leap Lock-In was held on Friday, January 26, 2018, for 5th – 8th-grade students at Sunset Middle School. Using the Escape Room concept to build problem-solving skills with Math games, puzzles, and riddles, students were locked into the gym with a chance to escape by solving a series of puzzles within a set time limit. Students divided into groups. Each team collected puzzles that were color-coded and hidden. Once they found all puzzles pieces, each team put them together to solve math problems and complete the puzzle. The first team to get all problems correct won and was allowed to ESCAPE.
