We will also start offering ice cream on Mondays and Fridays only.

Treats

All classroom snacks/treats for students must be in individual portions and include a list of the ingredients. Treats may not be homemade. Please refrain from sending in treats that must be stored in a refrigerator or freezer. We have limited storage space and the office staff is not always available to store treats immediately which could result in spoilage.

Please keep in mind students need to be able to carry the treats to their classroom from the office.

Recess

As cold weather is upon us please be sure your child(ren) have a coat, gloves, mittens, hat and scarves for recess. Recess is 20 minutes long. Please note when the wind chill is 19° Fahrenheit or above, students will go outside for recess.

Transportation Emails

Please be sure to read the subject line of emails from transportation regarding busing issues. Transportation will identify the school in the subject line of the email when notifying parents of busing issues.

2023-2024 Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration for the 2023-2024 school year will open at noon on Friday, January 6, 2023. We cannot wait to meet our newest cubs!

Please include the student's first and last name, homeroom teacher, time of pick up and the name of the person picking up your child. The person picking up your child must have photo ID on them. Notes should be sent with your child on the day of early pick up. Please refrain from using sticky notes.

Note to School pads can be requested or picked up in the office. Thank you.

Security and Sign in Procedures

In order to enter the school, all visitors and volunteers are required to buzz the office by pushing the silver button located to the left of the visitor door. Once you are buzzed into the building, please report to the office to sign in and pick up a visitor or volunteer badge. You must bring a driver's license with you in order to receive a badge.

Deliveries of any kind (forgotten homework, birthday treats, lunches, etc.) are to be made directly to the office only, not to the classroom.

When entering the building PLEASE DO NOT hold the door for other visitors/volunteers. They must buzz in and state their purpose for entering the building. Thank you for your cooperation.

Volunteering

Please be sure to get your three clearances if you plan to volunteer in our school. Volunteer information can be found on our district website. If you previously submitted your clearances, please be sure they are up-to-date. Contact the office if you have any questions.

From the Nurse's Desk

Below you will find information regarding health room procedures. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the health room nurses at 610-473-1770.

Physical & Dental Forms: All state mandated Kindergarten and 3rd grade private dental forms and all Kindergarten private physical exam forms are due now. Screenings performed by the district dentist and physician will be held at the end of February and beginning of March. If you would like your child screened, please contact the health room.

Medication Information: If your child requires prescription or over-the-counter medication while at school, a medication authorization form must be completed by your physician. Once completed, please submit the paperwork, then contact the health room to schedule an appointment to drop off your child’s medication. Prescription medications must be in an original pharmacy labeled container. Over-the-counter medication must be in original packaging. Please refer to the BASD website for more information.

Returning Paperwork: Please return any health room forms (Physical, Dental, Medication) via email if possible. You can scan and email the original document or email a photograph from your phone to either ewismer@boyertownasd.org or ekovach@boyertownasd.org.

* Change of clothing: Please keep a change of clothing in your child’s backpack, regardless of their age. Clothing can become soiled due to a bathroom accident, fall outside in the mud, or because of spilling food/drink. The health room may not have appropriately sized clothing, so if your child does have an accident of any sort, a parent will be called to bring clothing in for the child.
