BHS HYBRID 2.0 UPDATE
This week, seniors and juniors that did select distance learning, were invited to attend in-person learning on all five days. We will continue having seniors and juniors, who did not select distance learning, attend in-person learning next week. Current levels of students choosing in-person learning, allow for the further expansion of in-person learning.
Beginning Monday, February 08, 2021, all Sophomores who did not select the distance learning mode are invited back for a full week of in-person instruction.
Reminder, Students should bring and wear their school-issued lanyards with their IDs throughout the day while in the building. See here for the 5 W's of hybrid attendance.
Also, starting next week, we will resume attendance calls for students that are not attending class. If students can not attend class, parents need to enter the absence in Infinite Campus via the parent portal.
Daily Certification COVID Screening by Parents/Guardians
In an effort to promote a safe and healthy environment for students and staff entering our buildings, Barrington 220 is implemented a web app to allow families and staff to quickly and easily report current COVID-19 symptoms. A web app is a website that functions like an app, but does not require a download from an App Store. This reporting is required by our local health departments. Please use this web app each day before arriving at school.
Parents and guardians need to complete the health certification for their students daily. This will expedite the process of entering the building. See the bottom of this page for more information on the health certification.
The first academic progress posting is now available online.
Students and parents are able to see the students academic standing and comments on the Parent and Student Infinite Campus portal, under the grades section.
SKILLED TRADES FAIR
Barrington High School will host it’s 4th annual Skilled Trades Fair virtually this year. The event will be held over two days- February 24th and February 25th. Students will learn about careers and apprenticeships! This year we will have folks from unions and/or organizations representing Automotive, Aviation Technicians, Carpentry, Laborers, Electrical, Pipe Fitters, Plumbing, Heat & Frost, Operating Engineers, and Landscaping. Students can explore diverse career pathways and meet field experts to discover how you can gain the skills they need - for the career they want! Click here for more information and students' ability to sign up! Contact Marie Mirabella with questions. Check out the Career Trek website for other career exploration events.
