Poway High School Administration Team
Registration is the first step to starting the new school year. Please make sure to complete your online registration via Parent VUE in Synergy. During your online process you will need to print mandatory, and optional, registration forms that will be collected during your child’s assigned registration date. Please remember to sign and bring these forms to campus on the assigned date. Your child will not be able to register without these forms! Our office will be hosting open lab sessions on Thursday, August 8th and Friday, August 9th for anyone who would like assistance in completing or printing their online forms.
ID Pictures - During your assigned registration date students will have their ID picture taken. Please come with your best smile! All students from 9-12th grades are required to have their student ID on their person at all times during school hours and events. Since the student ID is an important identification document, we require students to look their best for their pictures! Unfortunately, pictures of students cannot be taken with costumes, masks, hats, intentionally funny hairstyles or accessories.
Textbooks - Textbooks are essential to our instructional program. Not returning a textbook from previous year(s) has an impact on students during the current instructional year. Students who have yet to pay textbook fines should contact the library immediately. Outstanding textbook fines may impact your ability to register during your assigned date. Please be prepared to collect your books for Trimester 1 of the 2019-20 school year during registration. You may also receive your scheduled classes for Trimester 1, however, teacher assignments and period order will not be released until Tuesday August 20th via Synergy.
Spirit Kit/PTSA - During registration we encourage you to buy a Spirit Kit, which includes Poway gear, yearbook and ASB card! We also hope you will join our PTSA at registration. You can find all of your purchasing information as one of the optional registration forms on ParentVue. Checks, debit cards and cash will be accepted.

Advanced Placement/Honors Students
Start your school year off right by completing any summer assignments before the first day of school! Click here to find AP or Honors summer assignments.
Student Parking and Start Smart Classes
All students who wish to park on campus must attend a Smart Start Class. The next classes held at Poway High School are on August 6th and September 10th. You can register online by clicking here. Students only need to attend one Start Smart class during their time at Poway High School. Each school year, all students must sign our parking regulation form and receive a parking permit from Mrs. Warriner in the Assistant Principal's office. For students who have attended a Start Smart class prior to registration, you can also complete the permit process at registration. Bring your driver's license and vehicle registration to obtain your permit.
First Day of School Tips!
Plan for traffic on the first day of school. It’s a good idea to give yourself extra time for traffic to ensure that you arrive to school on time. We will have a busy parking lot! Often families traveling north on Espola Road will experience delays during the first week of school.
Pack your bag the night before! Packing your bag/backpack and selecting your back-to-school outfit the night before helps create a smooth morning routine.
Your child may be a high schooler, but they are still your baby! They are never too old for the first day of school picture with a sign. Click here to find some free PUSD back to school signs. Don’t forget to tag us on social media- with your teen's permission of course! #pusdbacktoschool and #powayhighschool.
Have you downloaded the Poway USD app?! You can go to the Apple or Google Play stores to download the Poway USD app. Through this single app you can access updates from all the schools your children attend, Synergy (grade updates) and Myconnect (class assignment/website).
