MTSS-B- School Wide Expectations
We have been covering our Liberty's expectations:
- thoughtful- use kind words with each other, keep Liberty clean by not throwing things on the floor
- safe- hands to yourself. We do not play in school like we may play at home. Use the bathrooms appropriately.
- determined- work hard to achieve our MAP goals
Attendance/Strive for 95%
First off, we want to give a big “THANK YOU” to the students that are arriving to school on time each day. We also want to “THANK YOU”, the families for doing your part in working with your child(ren) in motivating them to get to school each day and get here on time, without your assistance it would not be possible for Liberty Elementary to see improvement in student attendance each quarter.
Students that are meeting the goal of attending school 95% of the time are continuously being recognized for this accomplishment by having an attendance celebration for accomplishing this milestone. The last attendance celebrations took place on Wednesday, December 13, and Thursday, December 14, for those students who have met the goal for the 2nd quarter in striving for 95. We look forward to celebrating with your child the accomplishment they have made during this second quarter for their attendance.
NSCAS Testing
Nebraska Department of Education
In November, the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) released state test scores for the 2022-23 school year. You may hear it referred to as “NSCAS” or the Nebraska Student Centered Assessment System.
NDE classifies schools across our state from “Needs Support to Improve” to “Excellent.” State test scores, student academic growth, English language proficiency and attendance in the school determine each school’s classification.
If your student is in a grade that takes the NSCAS test, your family has received information about your child’s performance. If you have questions, please contact your student’s teacher(s). We encourage all families to regularly review MAP Growth data. MAP Growth is a test that students take more frequently – with data available immediately. It is a proven source of information about your student’s current strengths and opportunities in the classroom.
Student data has always guided our instruction. We are constantly working to build on our instruction and improve outcomes for all students.
Inclement weather information
As we prepare for colder weather and we see a chance for inclement weather days increase, we want to provide families with the information you will need to support your learner for remote learning days. We will sent iPads home the day before.
At Home Learning Schedule Information
8:30 AM: Publish Student Lessons-
Teachers will send communication of asynchronous lessons/activities for students. These will be posted to ClassDojo and sent to students iPads with directions. These activities will be relevant and connected to current experiences in the classroom and generally follow this format. Students will complete 60 minutes of asynchronous time
8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. -- Office Hours
Our teachers and paras will be available from 8:30 to 10:30 AM via Teams to assist with academics and technology. This period is also an opportunity for staff to troubleshoot any issues with our new iPads or to address student or family questions. Please note, students are NOT required to sign on during this time. We will not take formal attendance on remote learning days. Instead, we trust our students to complete their assignments, knowing they have your encouragement and our support.
Thank you for building this learning bridge with us from your homes to our classrooms. It's the strength of our community and your dedication at home that makes this plan possible. Together, we are nurturing resilient and adaptive learners for tomorrow's challenges.
If you need technology help on these days, please contact your teacher.
Kinder Round up
