October 7: Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary
The month of October is traditionally dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. We remember and honor our Blessed Virgin Mary, giving thanks for her protection that she gives us through her faithfulness and praying the rosary. During this month, we are mindful of this and show our gratitude and love through our own devotion of the rosary.
During these upcoming weeks, take time from your family's busy schedule to pray the rosary together. As Pope Francis reminds us, now is a time where prayer and family moments are most important.
Mass Readings for Sunday, October 11: Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time
In this weekend's Gospel Matthew 22:1-14, Jesus shares another parable to the chief priests and elders to, again, have them and us, reflect on our faithful ways.
In this parable of the Wedding Feast, Jesus reminds us that we are all invited to God's table. To accept the benefits of his salvation, we do have to accept Him in faith. Although we may make excuses at times or push God aside (like the people in the parable), through our actions and acceptance to God, we can pass our blessings onto others and share his love!
Below is a prayer you can say as a family, to follow up on this Gospel message:
Thank you for inviting us into his family
Help us to reach out and invite others
Thank you for clothing us with Christ
Thank you for your love
We love you, God!
In Jesus name, Amen!
Activities for Family
An Invitation to God's Love!
Children always love going to parties! Balloons, cake, goodie bags - all their favorites! This weekend's Gospel demonstrates how God invites us to be part of his Heavenly family. Similar to an invitation to a party, we need to accept the invitation through our actions and our love.
This week, guide your children to relate the message of the Parable of the Wedding Feast to an invitation from God. To enjoy all aspects of a party, like the balloons, cake, and goodie bags, reinforce that we need to attend the party to be able to participate!
Using paper, crayons/markers, have your children create an invitation to Heaven through God's love. Using the invitation below as a model, include:
To, Date, Where, Time, RSVP
Encourage children to understand that this invitation is always available to us from God, even when we may steer down a different path. Through reflection and prayer, God always invites us back.
Preparing Our Children for their Sacaments
Whether your children are about the receive these sacraments or not, as parents, it is our role to teach and model prayer to our children.

Uplift Video of the Week!
Happy Dance!
After acing her job interview, Kayallah Jones broke out into her happy dance - and it was caught on video!
Jones, who had been homeless for two years, was walking out of an interview from a restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia. Not knowing she was on security camera, she was so excited that she stopped in the parking lot and quickly did this happy dance!
When the manager who interviewed Jones saw this video, she called her back immediately. The manager explained, "I called her phone and I said 'I'm going to hire you and I seen your happy dance, so you can continue dancing' and she was just screaming through the phone. It was a beautiful moment for me!".
