Exciting News...The BIS staff, students and community has earned being a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School! The Press release dropped today, but our staff has been working on setting high expectations for themselves and our students for a very long time. Thank you to everyone that contributes to BIS's success each and everyday. WooHoo!
Trojan Time
Students are currently choosing their top three choices for our weekly Trojan Time. This time is for students to take a break from the demand of school and do something different, learn something new, get a new hobby. Ask you child what they are choosing. Trojan Time starts next Thursday.
SamTran Bus Behavior
For those families that are relying on the bus (Route 46 from BIS) to get home, I need you to ask your students to remember our school rules. Students are under the rules of school. until they get home. We have been hearing about our students behaving badly on the bus, using foul language towards others, put downs and other unkind behavior. I ask our students to behave as if we are on the bus and watching. Take care of eachother. Stand up when others are being put down. We need UPSTANDERS! Make yourself proud, make all of us proud treat others with kindness. We are here to help, if you need us!
Identifications Cards (IDs)
Please have your child carry their BIS ID CArd with them. Your student needs the card for library, lunch, and other school related activities. Please share with your student(s) that they will need their ID card daily at school for lunch and to check out library books.
Parents of 6th Grade Outdoor Education Students
We need Chaperones for both weeks for Outdoor Education. We can not go on this trip without the 7:1 ratio required at the camp. Between myself and many PTA volunteers we have spent 100s of hours making this trip happen. It is now your turn to show up. I know it is a commitment to be off work, but it will be well worth your time with our awesome kids. This experience, they will remember! I have heard from parents that "my kid doesn't want me to go" know that they really do need you and you'll be the cool parent, being their and ensuring the trip happens.
I need enough chaperones for both trips by Wednesday morning at 8:00am. Thank you for digging deep fo our children.
