Lincoln Middle School -- Weekend Update
Lincoln Community,
I hope this message finds you all well!
I want to take a moment to highlight teacher appreciation week and thank the PTO for all they are doing to help make teacher appreciation week meaningful for our staff. I recently shared with the students that I believe that showing others gratitude is good for our well-being. When you express gratitude toward someone else it not only helps you feel good but the recipient of your gratitude is also lifted up.
I asked the students to reflect on their time at Lincoln and to let a teacher or staff member know something they appreciate about them. The students were provided with a form to document their gratitude and the responses have been incredibly heartwarming to see, and it's rewarding to know the impact we make on others. I ask that if you are feeling a sense of appreciation for something a staff member or team has done for your child to take a moment to fill out the survey as well. It only takes a couple of minutes, but the impact you can make lasts so much longer. You can fill it out as many times as you like for as many Lincoln staff members as you'd like.
Thank you for your continued partnership here at Lincoln!
With Gratitude,
Eric Larson, Principal

We are seeking monetary donations to help offset the cost of this week including a taco luncheon that will be held on Thursday. Please DONATE ANY AMOUNT VIA PAYPAL.
Sign-up to bring something for a Chips & Salsa bar on Monday OR a breakfast item on Friday. This SIGN-UP GENIUS LINK has all the details.
Most importantly, encourage your student to write notes of appreciation to all their teachers/staff! These small acts of appreciation mean the most to our staff -- help make a teacher's day! We have even included a template that can be used for your student's appreciation note. Please review the attached flyer and sign-up today!

TRACK MEET CONCESSION STAND: We have volunteer opportunities for parents and students (SERVICE HOURS!) on Saturday, May 13. We are still in need of volunteers to help run the concession stand - we need "grill masters" and others to help run the concession stand. Even if your student isn't participating, all the funds raised from this event will directly benefit ALL Lincoln Middle School students. SIGN-UP TO VOLUNTEER HERE! We are also in need of donations for our concession stand - donations can be dropped off at Prospect High School at 7am on Saturday, May 13. DONATE ITEMS HERE!
FIVE BELOW FUNDRAISER: We are having another fundraiser at Five Below! May 7th through May 13th, the Lincoln PTO will receive a donation of 10% of the sales generated by Lincoln families! Please make sure to bring the attached flyer to get credit for Lincoln.
SIXTH GRADE EVENT: It's time to sign up for our last 6th grade event of the year! We will be doing a PRIVATE SHOWING of The Super Mario Brothers Movie at AMC Randhurst on Thursday, May 11th. Arrival will begin at 5:30 pm and the movie will start promptly at 6 pm. There are only 28 spots remaining, so make sure to sign up as soon as possible. The cost is $15 for a movie ticket only, or $30 for a movie ticket plus snack pack. The snack pack will include a drink, popcorn, and candy. Concessions will not be available for purchase at the event, so if you wish to have snacks, please make sure to select the movie plus snack option. Sign up at the link here: 6th grade movie night - Google Forms, and make your payment at this link: Donate (paypal.com). We are excited to see you there! As usual, we are in need of parent volunteers to make this event a success. If you are available to check in, distribute concessions, or check out, please let us know! You can email the event coordinator at dyan.camodeca@gmail.com.
SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS, LINCOLN'S CLASS OF 2024: We are looking for students to design the class of 2024 t-shirts that will be available to purchase in the fall. Use your creativity to design something inspirational and memorable for your last year at Lincoln! All entries are due to the front office by Friday, May 19th. See rules and additional details in the attached flyer.
BOARD POSITIONS AND COMMITTEE CHAIRS: Parents, are you interested in being more involved in your child's Lincoln experience? There are tons of ways to get involved! We are not only looking to fill open board positions for the 2023-2024 school year, but we also have a number of committees that need a lead! Some of the events that need a chair are: Color Run, Staff Appreciation, Boosters, Sponsorships, Passive Fundraising (like Dine N Share), Membership Coordination, and Acts of Kindness. Remember that we can't do any of these events without you parents! To find out more, please email us at info.lincolnpto@gmail.com and join us at our next meeting on Tuesday, May 9th at 7 pm in the teacher's lounge. Board positions and committee chairs will be appointed at this time!
