STUDENT ENGAGEMENT SURVEY
The week of January 25th, your student will be participating in a Student Engagement Survey. This survey was written by the district and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. It asks students to respond to questions in areas related to environment, learning, and relationships. Information from this survey is used by teachers and administrators to identify areas of improvement related to the student experience. If you have questions about the survey, please contact Chad Nelson.

VALENTINES DAY
Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching! This year, due to COVID-19, we have not allowed any treat (food or otherwise) to be passed out to other students. We have asked families to consider sending one gift for the whole class to enjoy like a book or something of that nature. We would continue the stance of “No Food Items” as that supports our School Board Policy previous to COVID-19 in our Student Wellness Policy #5313 here.
We will be allowing exchanging paper Valentines with NON-food items as we are aware that COVID-19 has not been shown to transmit in this fashion. We would collect the Valentines ahead of time and allow them to sit for a minimum of 48 hours to add to the safety precautions. Also, moving forward, we will then allow birthday items (NON-Food items) that would follow the same mitigation above.
ATTENDANCE REMINDER
This year we started a new process of reporting ANY absence including leaving early and arriving late on a google form. HERE is the link to report absences.
DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
Wisconsin weather is upon us! Please make sure your son/daughter is dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. Coats and hats are necessary for the impending cold weather. However, this being Wisconsin, it can become warm and sunny by noontime. Please remind your child if they choose to remove their jacket during recess they are to be tied around their waist and not left on the playground. The decision to have an outdoor or indoor recess is based on both the wind speed and temperature at 11:30 am. If it is an outside recess day, all students must go outdoors.
Clothing
All students are expected to go outside for recess whenever the wind chill is above 0 degrees. Please be sure your child is dressed for the weather. This includes a warm coat, mittens or gloves, hats, scarves, snow pants & boots when there is snow. Please write the students name on all items.
New this Year:
As you are aware, our recess looks different keeping classroom cohorts together in assigned areas throughout the playground. This includes three grassy areas that will become snow when the winter weather starts. This means ALL students will be expected to have boots and snow pants during the weeks they are assigned to the snowy areas.
