The Skipper Scoop
Week of August 17th, 2020
The Skipper Scoop is back in action! I hope this newsletter finds you well. As always, summer flew by and we are back to buying school supplies and getting ready for school. I am thrilled to be back and I can't wait to see you all..
This has been a wild ride for all of us and our families. As a district we have been working with local officials to develop our restart plan. As I type this, Lake county is in yellow status. That means that all children in grades K-9 (not signed up for remote learning) will be back in the building daily from 9am-2pm starting September 8th. Masks are required for anyone to enter. Students in grades 10,11, and 12 will stay remote. School will look a little different this year but I am confident that our Skipper family will make the most of it!
**It is extremely important to note that this plan is fluid and may need to be adjusted and/or changed based on new information or requirements set by state or local conditions. Please understand that we may be required to transition from our traditional setting to a hybrid, or remote learning program if directed by the State of Ohio or deemed necessary by the District. Based on guidance from the Lake County General Health District and the Ohio Department of Health, Fairport Schools will follow the Ohio Public Health Color-Coded Advisory System. If Lake County should reach a RED or PURPLE level, Fairport will move to a remote learning model for all students.***
Please reach out with any questions or concerns you may have.
Mrs. Knight is the personification of Skipper Pride. She goes above and beyond for her students and school community. Mrs. Knight is always one of the first people to roll up her sleeves and get to work when something needs done! She volunteered to teach in our very first 8th grade Personalized Learning cohort this year and did an amazing job. We can’t think of a more deserving educator. Way to go Sandra!! We are so incredibly proud of you!!!
