NGHE Class Guidelines
2015-2016
CLASS GUIDELINES 2015-2016
North Georgia Homeschool Enrichment [NGHE] strives to provide each student with an excellent learning experience and help them reach their full potential while on campus. It is because of this goal that guidelines were created for students to follow and to discourage students from being disrespectful or disruptive. Each parent and student should be fully aware of these guidelines so there is no confusion during our very limited and valuable time together.
Conduct
- Students should show respect to teachers and all adults while on campus.
- Students should show respect to other students. This includes keeping their hands to themselves at all times. This includes any "romantic" relationships among students.
- Students will be quiet in the hallways during class times and not run while in the hallways.
- No cell phone calls or texting allowed during classes (allowed between classes and during breaks).
- Non-prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco or vaporized cigarettes are not allowed on campus.
- Students should show respect for the campus by throwing away trash and not destroying property. Gum is not allowed on campus due to risk of gum sticking to carpet and furniture.
- Only students in 6th grade and up may exit the building at the end of the day for student pick-up in the parking lot or circular driveway in front of the Welcome Center. Students in grades 3-5 should wait in the Welcome Center Atrium for parent pick-up. Students in grades Pre-K - 2nd must be picked up by parents at their last classroom (no exceptions).
- For very important security reasons enforced by North Lanier Baptist Church [NLBC], under no circumstances are students allowed to go downstairs to the NLBC Preschool & Daycare.
Dress Code
- All students are asked to dress appropriately and modestly. Students should not wear spaghetti strapped or midriff tops. Shorts and skirts should be at fingertip length while standing. No shirts with crude or violent sayings on them will be allowed. Students should wear their pants/shorts high enough at their waist so that undergarments cannot be seen.
- No hats should be worn in class unless it is a special "hat day" occasion at NGHE.
- No rolling shoes allowed.
- Shoes must be worn at all times. Please wear appropriate shoes for the activities of the day.
Discipline
The first time a student violates these guidelines or acts in a disrespectful or disruptive manner, the teacher will give a verbal warning to the student and call the parent. The second time the students acts out in the same manner, the teacher will share the incident with the parent in writing. If a child continues the behavior after two warnings, NGHE will ask a parent to accompany the students to class or ask that the student be removed from the class. It is unlikely that NGHE will ever have to remove a student from class, but on the rare chance that NGHE does, NGHE will not refund the tuition, supply fees or registration fees for that session.
Emergency Information
On Mondays, please contact North Lanier Baptist Church at 770.781.5433 if you need to leave an urgent message for NGHE staff or for your student. When calling, ask for the Homeschool Enrichment program / Welcome Center and they will transfer you to NGHE's Front Desk Administrative Assistant.
