Stateside Scoop

Week of December 7th-December 11th

What is going on this week at Stateside?

There is a ton going on in the hallways at STES this week! We hope to see many of you on campus as we begin Holiday Concert season!

Stateside Inaugural Angel Tree

We still have about 16 Angel Tree tags that are available for adoption. Please see Mrs. Merritt, Mrs. M Whaley or Mrs. Loya for assistance. We appreciate all of the support thus far. Monetary donations are also welcome. Please see Mrs. Whaley if you would like to help out in that manner.

Just a reminder, we would like to have all unwrapped presents by December 15th to the office. A huge thank you to all Patriot families.

Safety and Security of our students

We have had many questions about what we are doing at STES to continue to monitor the safety of our Patriots. As always, every door is locked at Stateside immediately following the morning announcements. Every visitor is buzzed in using the new intercom/lock system and is directed to the front office for check in purposes. The students have talked about and practiced many types of drills over the school year and will continue to do so to ensure they are calm and prepared if a situation were ever to arise. We at Stateside take the safety of your Patriots very seriously and will remain vigilant in keeping them safe.

Kindergarten Legacy Tree - Ornaments needed UPDATE!!!

Keep sending in those ornaments...the tree is starting to look fantastic! We are adding them as they are arriving. Please remember to label them with your students name.

We need your help decorating our Legacy Tree! We started a new tradition at STES last year and we want to continue with our newest Patriots. We would like to have our Kindergarten students decorate the red, white and blue tree that we house in the media center. Have fun and decorate an ornament with your Patriot…the style and design is your choice. We only ask that they be red, white or blue based or Patriotic! We will package them up, store them safely and pass them back to your Patriot when they are in 5th grade. The tree will be put up as soon as we return from the Thanksgiving break. Feel free to send in your ornaments as soon as you are finished with your fantastic creations. Please label it with your child’s name and the year.

Parent workshop available!

Would you like to learn ways in which you can support your child? If so, then you’ll want to attend one of the informative workshops on December 17th. We’ll be experiencing ways in which you can help your child grow as a reader. You’ll also have the opportunity to share your thoughts about future sessions. We hope to see you there! Please use the RSVP google doc below to submit your response if you would like to attend so we may prepare materials.
