Weekly News Updates!
Welcome back!
Here is a breakdown of what we will be covering over the different content areas this week.
Reading: Expository text: Making connection to text, non-fiction text features and their purpose, main idea and details.
Spelling: The long A sound
Writing: Expository text; the students will began drafting and putting together their "All About" books. More information on their All About books is below.
Social Studies: Why people work/holidays. I am going to create a short, fun project that you and your child can do together! More information and directions will be sent home mid-week!
Math: We will be enforcing addition and subtraction using different strategies we have learned; word problems; place value; expanded notation; and composing and decomposing numbers.
Science: We will be studying further on natural resources!

As of right now, there is NO math test planned, but since we are doing a lot of review this week, there will MORE than likely be a test very soon. I will keep you updated!
Progress Reports
Homework Corner!
All students will receive a homework packet on Monday, November 30, 2015. They need to be turned in no LATER than next Monday, December 7, 2015.
Here is what the homework will be consisting of:
Reading: Reading Log- 10 books for fluency practice!
Spelling/Writing: Spelling sheets
Math: Math review worksheets
Each night, your student should work on homework for 10-20 minutes. Please make sure he/she is reading each night as well! It is VERY important! :)

Also, Wednesday folders need to be returned by Friday each week. I am still missing quite a bit of Wednesday folders. These folders are important for students to take home as they will provide important information and graded papers!
