8th Grade Families --we need just a few 8th grade parent/caregiver volunteers to support the 6th and 8th grade open house. If you have 60-90 minutes to spare, please contact Beth Martin ( by Sunday to let her know of your interest. Thank you so much.

Join the KP Partnership Engagement Committeee

We believe in the power of partnership to help our students succeed and build a strong school community. We need 2-3 parents/caregivers to support our efforts by joining our Partnership Engagement Committee. To build a common understanding we are attending the CT Family Engagement Conference on October 26, 2016. The PTO will sponsor 2-3 parents to attend this conference (see flyer below) with KP teachers and administrators. Please contact Joy Wright at or at 860-233-8230 to sign up. We need to complete registration by September 21st.

Student Opportunities/After School Information

Unified Sports has started! It is soccer season! Practices will be held on Sundays from 5-6:30pm at Sedgwick Middle School. Come join us this Sunday. If you have any questions, please see Coach Condon in room 219 or Coach Gustafson.

KP Cares

At KP, we strive to be respectful, responsible and good citizens. KP Cares is the a community service club open to students from all grade levels who want to help give back and do good for others. We will be taking on service projects such as the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, a holiday gift drive, the penguin plunge and more. KP Cares meets after school Tuesdays from 3-4 pm. KP Families are also welcome to participate in many of our events!! Bring a friend and help your community! Remember: Community counts, KP Cares.

Free Hiking Opportunity for students -Parents drop off at KP and pick up at Auer Farm in Bloomfield 3 miles away.

Making It Real: Girls & Manufacturing Summit on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 8:30 to 1:30

The program will include exhibits and demos from Connecticut manufacturers and higher education institutions, hands-on activities, competitions, giveaways, and a very special panel of successful women in the manufacturing industry.

We have 10/25 spots left. If your child is interested, please have her check her email and register on the google form.

Chess Program Opportunity offered at KP

This program will be a combination of group lessons and supervised play & will meet on Wednesdays in the KP Library from 6:00 to 7:00PM. Please click for more information regarding the dates the Chess Program will meet and the registration form.
