February 2015
Dear Lincoln Families,
January has come and gone and we are heading into the second month of 2015. Another school year is racing by and it's hard to believe that we recently celebrated our 100th day of school. The hard work and dedication of our staff, students, and families is showing with amazing progress being shown throughout the building.
Thank you to everyone who joined us during our First Annual Science Fair night. We had an amazing turnout. We are proud to announce that we achieved 100% participation in both 4th and 5th grade. We want to say congratulations and best wishes to following students who were chosen to represent Lincoln Elementary at the Tri-County Science Fair on February 21st: Rayna Reeves, Seth Littrell, Kate Reiter, Ethan Troutman, Kayla Troutman, Jesse Augustus, and Matthew Villarico.
We have recently kicked off our PTO fundraiser featuring TJ's pizza. For every 5 pizzas your child sells their name will be entered into a raffle for chance to earn a new bike. Please look for the flyers and recording sheets that came home recently for more information. Your students are very excited at the possibility of winning a bike while raising money for our Lincoln Elementary PTO. Please make all checks payable to Lincoln Elementary PTO.
Don't miss out on the BIG EVENT!!! On Wednesday, February 18th, the R-3 3-Pointers will be taking on the Harlem Wizards in the TBHS Gymnasium at 7pm. Now, you may be asking who the R-3 3- Pointers are, but I can assure you that your students will recognize at least 2, if not more players on this team! You may purchase tickets online at www.harlemwizards.com or by stopping by the Lincoln office.
A quick reminder regarding clothing and recess during our winter months. Per district guidelines, classes may go outside as long as the wind chill is above 20 degrees. Please be sure to dress your child appropriately so we can get outside and play if the weather permits! If you need assistance with obtaining warm clothing for your child, please contact the Lincoln office.
As always, thank you for your continued support with ensuring Lincoln is a great place to learn!
Yours in education,
Ms. Ellis, Principal
Mr. Schultz, Assistant Principal
