KIWANIS CLUB OF MOUNTAIN VIEW CHILDSPREE
We want to express our appreciation to the Kiwanis Club for sponsoring a drawing! 15 lucky Mariano Castro students won a shopping spree to Kohl’s, and last Saturday received a complete new wardrobe. Students already have been showing off their new clothes with pride. Thank you, Kiwanis!

The Walkathon Update (WAT)
WAT is the abbreviation for Walk-a-thon. The Walk-a-thon is an annual fundraising event hosted together by both Castro and Mistral Schools. It takes place on the school campus in early October each year. It is a fun event for the whole family! Here is what you can do to start helping your child’s school.
- Turn in the salmon/orange permission slip for your child to be able to participate in WAT.
- Get your T-shirt money turned in for your child’s new WAT shirt. These are used for field trips also. (We have over $1400 not collected, so please turn it in!) If you can help by donating an additional $10.00, please turn money in to the Castro Office. Thank you to those of you who have already paid!
- Sign up to volunteer for a shift during the WAT! One or two hours is a super help to the event. There are many ways to lend a hand by helping with preparation, assistance, or sales. There are multiple booths of many types from food to Spirit Wear! All languages are needed. Be a part of this!
- Help your child to obtain sponsors and help raise money for Castro. Friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and neighborhoods are all places to ask for support. Don’t forget to collect the money and return it to the school, when the time comes. Flyers will be coming home soon, so look for them in your child’s backpack. It takes all of us to make this event fun, and to make the fundraiser a success.
Children enjoy seeing their parents help with their school’s fundraiser! Be a Volunteer! Help share the Castro Dolphin pride. Encourage your child to do their best. Spread our school spirit!
If you have any questions, please direct them to the WAT Chair:
