No Place for Hate
Olympian High joins several schools around the district, state, and nation as a designated No Place For Hate school. In order to receive the banner, anti-bias and diversity education need to be an integral part of the school's curriculum, several criteria needs to be met. Congratulations to the Peer Mediation program under the leadership of Viana Rodriguez who have helped to create and sustain an inclusive school environment where students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual differences.
Kudos and Thanks
- Congratulations to Jennifer Opdahl, we had 4 Olympian Students who participated in the annual San Diego County Honor Choir. They performed college level music with over 100 students around the county. Please congratulate Emily Meadows, Jazmin Oliver, Charleston Yambao and Ray Ramos. Stephen Evanglista assisted at rehearsals to help the four prepare for the Honor Choir.
- Special thanks to the counselors, faculty, administrative team, and the ASB for a great Incoming Parent Night. We had well over half of the incoming 9th grade class show up with their parents.
CAHSEE is coming!
CAHSEE administration will be March 18th and 19th. The administrative team will be visiting the English 10 classes this week (Wednesday - Friday) to give a "Yes You Can" pep talk. For your planning purposes, though TEAM CAHSEE has been identified, the rest of the staff will either be receiving 9th, 11th, or 12th grade students or taking a class during your prep. Mr. Lara will sending out the matrix this week.
