Sully's Salutations
Happy Winter Break
December 20th, 2015
Good afternoon,
I want take a moment this afternoon and wish all of you a wonderful winter break. I hope that each of you gets some well deserved R & R and that you enjoy time with family and friends.
We have had a very productive 3 1/2 weeks since Thanksgiving break. Students in 7th grade English classes wrote a last chapter for The Giver - a very creative and higher order thinking assignment. Eighth graders have embarked on a Canterbury Tales journey literally and physically - it is great to see the eighth grader finding the next clue in the in their travels around the building. Eighth graders are also busy writing original folk tales and this is just a small sampling of the inspiring work students in which students are engaged.
I have embedded a couple of links that I believe will resonate with each of you . The first is a PDF file from the Facebook Page, Celebrate What's Right With the World, Dewitt Jones, world renowned photographer and motivational speaker shared colleague Paulette Mertes' photographs from the year and they truly celebrate what is right with the world!
The second article is about giving, noting how to give to others in a very simple but powerful way.
Finally, I have kept the link about the new app called After School and encourage you to read it if you have not already done so. It is worth the read and a discussion with your child(ren) especially as we enter the break and your child(ren) has/have more free time.
Please remember if you are not getting the PCC Newsletter, email Lois Eppihimer at loisepp2@verizon.net with your child's name, grade and preferred email address.
I wish peace and happiness to each of you for 2016!
Warm wishes,
Beth Wittcoff
Principal
