This poster is an example of transfer. It uses two symbols, the flag and the woman. The flag is the symbol of pride, honor, courage. The woman is a symbol of the many people who will be left behind during the war.
Patriotic
This poster is an example of glittering generality. It uses a simple slogan that invokes feelings of patriotism. The targeted audience were the citizens forced to use rations during wartime.
Mad Brute
This poster is an example of name calling propaganda. It portarys the germans as wild, untamed beasts who endanger our freedom and democracy. They also use a damsel in distress to symbolize what was at stake to the german opposers.
For The King
This poster is an example of a band wagon. It Invokes a sense of duty and nationalism. The target audience are young males who are able and ready to fight.
Army Strong
This modern day poster is an example of band wagoning. It invokes a sense of challenge. Many modern versions of propaganda make me feel like they attempt to make conflict seem adventerous and in some strange way, enlightening. The old versions of propaganda were much more comical and cartoonish but either way it gets the job done
